Well, actualy they are one of the more improtant ones in the lore ^^, together with the Naga.

Mur'gul, murlocs corrupted by demonic magics, are Naga slaves. Not murlocs.

When I first time saw this pic it was on WoW wiki and I thoght that they did mistake and they put it murloc and not mur'gul.
