I wasn't quite sure what other symbol to give him; I didn't want him to have the exact same armor as Falric. I keep reading up on lore, and I'm trying to find a way to fit in Marwyn as part of a family originally from Stormwind, explaining the Lion; I'm also debating just going with it, the Lion is still an Alliance symbol, right? Could be interesting, having Falric loyal to Arthas, Marwyn loyal to the Alliance, and Valenforth loyal to the King.
Yeah, I think that could work into what I have in mind story-wise. Falric, being as loyal as he is to Arthas, would stick with him during the Northrend Campaign, leaving Valenforth and Marwyn to scout the area, and find the Shadow Orb(?) that hexes Marwyn, and setting things up for Luc Valenforth to be willing to undermine Arthas by trying to lead the fleet home.
/I keep reading up on lore, and I'm trying to find a way to fit in Marwyn as part of a family originally from Stormwind/ Hmm, well there were many refugees from Stormwind during the 1st war, some stayed in Lordaeron (ex: Gavinrad the Dire), I guess you have a point. Shadow Orb?
Yes. I wanted to do the same thing I did with Falric, using the variants of the Priest skin as he grew more powerful. I used Arthas' face, and was going to have him grow weary and pale in Northrend, using Kael's face, and then Proudmoore's after he lays a hand on a powerful black orb, which helps explain why Death Knight Marwyn can summon shadowy Footman wraiths.
Like I've been saying, Arthas will be in total control of the Alliance bases, periodically leading whole battalions to face off against whatever enemies are nearby. Your job will be to use a Defence Force to fend off attackers, or investigate the area for threats/resources. During these investigations, Falric finds his enchanted Eagle shield, aswell as a few powerful relics that lead to his blue-glowing eyes in Northrend. Upon being corrupted, Falric's eyes glow green and his powers shift. Marwyn won't have this same kind of early-game progression, but during a scouting mission in Northrend, he and his party will stumble upon a crater, with a powerful black orb. Upon reaching out to it, the orb will lash out, killing all the others in the party, and stunning Marwyn. Afterwards, he returns with black hair, and odd shadowy versions of his own abilities.
After defeating Mal'Ganis, Arthas will wander off, and eventually return to choose his undead Lieutenants, Falric and Marwyn; leaving one of them to execute Luc Valenforth for undermining him earlier in the campaign. This means Luc Valenforth can return later on, as Arthas wasn't the one to kill him.
I really like how he's shaping up; proportions are nice, and he seems cool & armored while still differentiable from your Falric. The weapon is interesting & unique, though I have my doubts about the stark gray taking up the whole head (maybe some rings or studs or something... something to break up the monotony).
Also, while the visor is cool, it might be a problem for the in-game perspective; too small or detailed. Unless you're doing the whole "built-in Portrait" thing.
