You have a very brilliant idea, bro, it was gold we end up in the same thought, and I've been thinking of making other universe as well for long time. I might be using alternate or different timeline but the origin of races and history still sticks with WoW, but I'd be using a different world similar to Azeroth, since I have no plans of putting the story and events within Azeroth as to prevent the story from conflicting with the original lore. I imagine of fast forwarding WoW storyline then set this game to "after millions years".
I just checked the "Paraworld" game on google, wow, it looks fun and relaxing kind of game, it's very unique and never seen that one.
