Well, initially I will only make a fantasy version, because it's requested models... kinda like.
We chatted with Nightmare2077 and I offered him help in updating some of the models for his Warhammer FB map.
Fantasy-style model will use mostly vanilla animations, but maybe I remade them later.
Then, when I finish at least part of what I plan to do, I'll probably take on the futuristic version - it's really a great idea.
@Zess
Medieval / Fantasy factions looks cooler. These guys you are making, man, are good match against gnolls and kobolds. Now we have these rats to clear those menacing races out. hehe. Well, keep up the good work mate. Anyways, how do you model?Starting from box modeling or more of extrusion method?
@stein123
Groovy skavens. Making me like them more than the slann/toadboys. Anyways, do you have that pack of them skaven and slanns? Maybe @Zess could have an idea from those models and to draw more "inspiration". I forgot where I saw those but I saw those old skaven and froggy slanns somewhere.
@Battleborn
It will sound damn funny, but I just take vanilla or custom models and edit them already.
The problem is that I work in MdVis and there is no possibility of creating primitives or individual vertices. Therefore, I have to work through extrusion or copying of individual elements.
However, this editor is very flexible and convenient to use, so I use it for everything - modeling, texturing, animation.
Most of what's here is was just remaded Gnoll model with Cavman's rat ogre texture (and some vanilla ones, of course).
Now it looks that
@Zess
Gnolls fit that rats due to their hunched posture and long nose. Looks good anyways, I didn't notice it was a gnoll base until you said it. Good to know you are doing Jigrael @Tarrasque extrusion modeling style.
