Modeling Competition #6 - Halloween Unit/Doodad

You said "Angel of death"... I'm guessing to you, it also means "Grim Reaper", right?

Dan already made a Grim Reaper, but his one was the classic. El here is going for the cool style. 8)

As in, awesome skull, black robe, and creepy floating "walk"?

Just a few suggestions: Use a skeleton skull, but make it VERY hidden under the hood. Also, no need for walk anims. Make him float and have awesome black clouds under his cloak.

I see Lich model potential.....and I like the idea of using a lich better because this Medivh based Grim Reaper doesnt like to play nice with the morph.....

"By order of the High Elven Council...The Medivh base will be abandoned...for now...and a new Abomination shalt be carved from the Lich Model!!!"

2 attacks and 2 stands.
I know they need a bit of improvement, but any comments?

Attack 1 needs to be faster... Attack 2 is just plain weird. The stands are nice. Though in the first he bends too much.
The biggest problem about them is the feet move too much... as in, they just glide, not really move.

Seriously awesome armor though.

Yeah I'm planning to make the attack 1 go slower and the attack 2 go faster.
And also make him step as opposed to glide.

OK!!! I decided to stick with my original GrimReaper, fore the Lich decided it didnt like its robe being messed with....stupid son of a lich!

Anyways..I got the bat to work on the original, I just need to figure out how to wrap certain spots.

well, im stuck between 2 options, a pumpkin, a pumpkin unit that looks like the pumpkin but turns into a monster when it moves and attacks with his claws and when hes standing still looks like a pumpkin again and if i put a bunch of doodad pumpkins around a vineyard and replace some of those doodad pumpkins with unit pumpkins no one will know the difference and i think i might do that. but i wuld need to learn to animate XD or get milkshape that works..

You could have used another model, the Bat-Troll, but this is way better.

Ah, I see you used the bats original wings. Have you tried using Illidan's? I think they look more scary and supernatural...

Yeah...but Illidans wings would not have fit as well as the current wings.

Not too mention the extensive vertex assigning.....

And besides...the orange color really matches the Halloween Fall theme quite nicely....


Now that the hard part is over..I need to finish the actual Grim Reaper...

Lets see...to do list.

I need to add stuff....I need to add an epic looking scyth....and I need to polish the model...add final texture...wrap it....and mess with the sfx.

You are after all an sfx master.

But it's your model. And this is a competition.

Just make a simple emmitter... use a black cloud or something in the like.
Also, will he be walking or floating?

Walking. As I cannot make him float.

He is based on the medivh model.

Although I might try to transfer some scorceress anims...but I doupt that will work.

Make a unit float = Set its movement type to float, and change its height to like 40 or so.
