EDIT: My layout will probably be somewhat different in the middle area but everything else will be similar.
EDIT2: Wasn't happy with my first layout attempt so I made another.
It doesn't really look balanced now, but it will in-game.

I'm glad to see people are taking in interest in this :)
We need more challenges these days.

Anyhoo, as for progress I've pretty much only done the middle and the two starting areas.
Gonna try finish today or tomorrow so there's a lot of room left for polishing!

That's a lot of empty space there MADAWC. I like the center, I don't know how good of an idea if it placing those gold mines RIGHT next to the starting points. I really like the center of it so far. Maybe add a little more water? Try to add in some height variation also, especially upwards, which you seem to be lacking.

I'm going to submit this as my final because I don't want to work on it anymore. I probably won't upload to the hive NEVER EVER FOREVER because of how little I liked it. Oh well.

Good Things:
  • Balanced
  • Unguarded Tavern

Bad Things:
  • No expansion gold mines
    (This ruined whole map, almost below acceptable score)
  • 2 taverns
    (Map is small, you should use only 1 and make better placement)
  • Creep Camps
    (Bandits + Dragon = fail, same for Sasquatch + Bandits, also Kobolts in town, etc)
  • Item Drops
    (Dragon drop level 4 item, where is artifact or powerful high level item)
  • Terrain
    (Trees grow from rocks, you have grass tiles use them, poor ramps, horrible cliffs, Windmills placed on map center look horrible, waterfalls from caves look bad, lower them a little, use RISE/LOWER tool a little, nothing unique related to technique)

  • Creeps near Tavern
    (Players should be able to play with neutral heroes as well, leave taverns unguarded)
  • Creep Camps
    (Look ok related to creeps race, but there are only few of them)

    (Orb of Darkness isn't melee item at first place)
  • Terrain
    (Empty, single tile is used almost always, few trees, near starting locations, there is no environment doodads within playable map area)
