Idea for new campaign [Modern Warfare]

Hey there.

I took a look around and found out, there is no real Singleplayer-Modern Warfare-Map here. So i note some ideas:

-A campaign, base-conzept based on Call of Duty - Modern Warfare
-Own history
-A lot of script-scenes
-Variable weapons
-Missions
-Modern Warfare, tanks, dust and explosions

Places:
USA
Europe
Asia

Charakters: (1 campaign for every charakter)
-Sgt. Jim West (USA)
-Pvt. Timo Frank (Europe)
-Lt. Tero Aqira

(Names can change, they are just stupid^^)

Example-Mission:

Charakter: Sgt. Jim West
Area: Jemen
Targets: 20 Terrorists, 1 Boss


Mission - Sandman

Description:
A group of european terrorists flew to Jemen after an attack on Wien in Austria. A special unit of the USA had been send out to find and erease the enemy.
The terrorists leader is a guy called Raven Terom. They hide in a small desert-camp in Jemen, Saudi-Arabia. Also try to find information about their group. If there are more than one group, we have a problem.
Be careful, they are really dangerous.


InGame:

A heli is landing near to the terrorists hide. A group of 4 marines jump out of it. One of them is Sgt. Jim West...you.

Lt. Green: "Okay guys. Let's split and search these bastards. Sgt. West, you follow me. Pvt. Finger and Sgt. Bills, you go this side."

Sgt. Bills: "Got it."

The two groups are going their ways. You and Lt. Green sneak around cliffs, stones and dust, looking for the enemy.
A few minutes later Sgt. Bills radios Lt. Green:

Sgt. Bills: "Lt. Green, we found them! Heavy fire, nothern way!"

Lt. Green: "We're on our way, hold your position."


You sprint back to the other group. A few 100 meters before, you notice a group of people sneaking on a cliff.

Sgt. West: "Sir, 5 targets at 12 o'clock."

Lt. Green: "Roger. Get them down."


You have to go at the cliff to kill the enemys.

Sgt. West: "Targets down."

Lt. Green: "Hell, don't talk, get your weapon and sniper them out!"


You see a big group of the terrorists hiding behind walls and rocks. They fire at your hiding camerades. You take up your sniper-rifle and kill them.

Lt. Green: "Good....what the hell was that?"

A loud noise and a lot of dust and fire is coming out of the camp.
An explosion.

Lt. Green: "Hell, it's a tank! All men out of here! Now!"

Your group is running near the cliffs, you regroup with them.
The tank is coming down the street, destroying the walls and rocks.

Sgt. Bills: "Time for our tank-breaker. Take the RPG."

Sgt. Bills gets a RPG and prepares for attack.

Pvt. Finger: "The tank noticed us!"


The tank fires. You all can jump away soon enough.
Sgt. Bills fires at the tank.

Sgt. Bills: "Target destoryed, Sir."

Lt. Green: "Why the hell they got a tank right here? Anyway, let's get this rats out of their holes!"


2 small holes are in the camp. You search through tents and the holes, killing the rest of the terrorists.

Sgt. West: "Clear."

Lt. Green: "We're done guys. But...wait. Isn't that a helicopter outside?"


You run outside. A helicopter is flying away. In it must be Raven Terom, because you didn't find him there.
Lt. Green gets your own helicopter back and bring you home.

What do you think about this idea? Would it be fun to play something like that?

I think you should principally focus on avoiding to repeat those kind of missions. They are boring when you have four of them in each campaign.

Missions Ideas:
- Escort a prisoner from A to B
- Move from A to B
- Find secret datas without being found (so you have to avoid to shot)
- Infiltrate a secret base
- Kills only one target and run away without being found
- Hold position and defend for x minutes
- Free one of your prisoner
- Lead an army force (you choose where the units go and then on the map you only control you and your team and rest of the army follow the orders you previously gave)

I'll have other advice but for now gonna sleep :)

- If you shoot, you get discovered and the alarm will rang
- When the alarm rang, you get chased by mega-powerful AK-47 droids.
- Sneak into the storage room(probably far east of the building)
- Break Crates
- Find 5 nuclear parts
- Find 1 C4
- When you have fetched them, the alarm will go off.
- SURVIVE THE HELL OUTTA THIS BUILDING(shoot as you want)
- When you finally got out, put the C4 at the entrance.

for missions where you have to hide:
1. maybe a forest
2. everything is dark
3. light can make you visible
4. you can't be seen normally (aside from stepping to near to an enemy)
5. weapon with a silencer, so you can kill 1 person (no other person should be there, else he would alarm the others)
6. and so on...

this would be a very tactical mission. Hide, kill one if there are no others near him, take his key/codecard or whatelse, and and and :)

It will take some time, i have to think about these things: (You may help ^^)

-How to fight?
-Camera Position (FPS, 3rdPS, ?)
-Any script-scene ideas?
-Any more ideas?
 
please don't make a fps. It's not good in warcraft (without RtC (which doesn't work with the latest patch))
it's only a suggestion, but it would ruin the whole game.

and how to fight: maybe you could make an arrow movement system, and you have
an ability which you can shoot with. (top view)

And you have to work with many special effects (explosions...) and maybe showing
them in a cinematic scene. (like troops come out of the building, or a mine explodes)

That would be the best. But what about the enemys and allies?

Special effects, with camera shake? Like: Grenade explodes, cam shakes, loud noise.

that's the hard part: if you want that it look like real, you have to include a bot AI.
like that they search rocks for hiding...

yes, and maybe that the cinematic borders appear, the camera pans to the enemy, and you see how he's stepping into a landmine :p

Operation : Apocalypse

Mission Info :
"Desert Wraith", a terrorist team basis in Kazakhstan have stole some Toxic Gas from Russian Convoy and ask for ransom to UN before they use it to unknown place. USA and Russian Counter-Terrorist force have been sent to there. Simple mission : DESTROY THE GAS SAFELY!
General mission:
They secret base is under-desert and protected by strong wall, so we can destroy the gas safely. Russian Counter-terrorist force will make them busy by attack them from front. You, as USA counter-terrorist force must infiltrate the base and place c4 on the gas.
you must not caught by terrorist
- Search Room that gas placed
- Place the C4 on right spot
- Get out and regroup with Russian Team
Note:
- You will caught if alarm turned on. So, immediately disable or kill who want to turn it on
- Your team is just 4 man, you, a sniper, a scout, and an engineer.
- Your team will dropped in back of they base.

Nice, nice. I'm currently doing the Mission 1, then i will include the Skills, effects, etc.

that was fast...

well, quite nice the beginning. I know it's only the beginning, but these things should be implemented:
1. if a bullet hits a rock, or other obstacles, the bullet disappears, and won't harm nothing (maybe trees)
2. maybe when there is a battle, that sometimes the AI bots run to another point, so there is more 'life' in it
3. you should making something, that avoid to go to another way. Like when you are too far away from your leader, you have 15 seconds (or sth like that to return, else the mission will fail)

some suggestions from my side :)
and the UI is a bit **cked up

and one thing: where is the sniper attachment? D:

Well...^^'

I really suck at triggering, so it would be hard to do these things.
But they are good.

The UI is ugly, i know...i think i will remove it again.

The map is fast, yeah...i think, you will have to catch the enemy helicopter...so the mission will end after that...let's see.

The attachment is not implented yet, like the custom fire-ability, grenades, crawl-ability etc...

I will lead the project, write the story, missions, what's in the game etc.

i got an idea for a level:

Bank Job:

based off the movie "Three Kings"

you and 3 other's (and a humvee) are driving through the desert following a map you pulled out of some iraqi's ass. (what's worse him putting it there or you looking!)

anyway turns out the iraqi's are holding the people there hostage and starving them.

get out, get the gold, save the civilians. and for the love of god don't die. the iraqi's won't attack you unless you attack them. interacting with certain members will cause them to take the hostages to the town square (good because they are all in one place)

you gave me a nice idea. Maybe making a mission, where you drive with a jeep throug
the desert. First you have to drive the car, evade obstacles and the enemies.
After some time, the guy who uses the gun on the jeep gets shot, and you
have to use the gun now. Another guy takes control of the jeep and you
don't have to evade anymore. Now you have to shoot at enemies, so you can
reach the ends of the desert.
