Yeah, if you ask me, Kael'thas should have been better off serving the Horde for extended backstory. Blizzard clearly could have chosen a generic Sunstrider instead.
He could also have stood up to Garrosh in Jaina's defense, now that Arthas is gone.

Yeah, if you ask me, Kael'thas should have been better off serving the Horde for extended backstory. Blizzard clearly could have chosen a generic Sunstrider instead.
He could also have stood up to Garrosh in Jaina's defense, now that Arthas is gone.

Of course, any other option would have been better than what they did. He was my favorite TFT character and I hated how he ended up in WoW.

PS: In fact, my first custom campaign had him as the protagonist.

I'd rather have the ambitious elf prince trying to do right with his people than some arrogant Quel'dorei/Sin'dorei male stereotype. Thrall could have helped Kael and the other Blood Elves, especially since Kael'thas had long since distrusted Illidan for not upholding his promise. While serving the Horde, he could have...

~ Kept Lor'themar on the frontlines.
~ Quelled Zul'jin's Amani uprising.
~ Shared with Thrall and Garrosh his and Illidan's previous base camps and directions towards the Frozen Throne and still kill Kel'Thuzad.
~ Restricted Goblin industry in Azshara because it is a historical site for the Blood Elves' ancestors, the Highborne.
~ Quelled yet another Amani Uprising, this time by some troll we know next-to-nothing about.
~ Saved Theramore.
~ Found a solution for the coming Purge of Dalaran.
~ Had a hay-day napalming Zandalari hordes in the Isles of Thunder.
~ Helped Vol'jin and his Darkspear Rebellion against Garrosh and his "True Horde" because Garrosh is no longer different from Garithos.
~ Stem the Iron Horde threat.
~ Fight against Kil'jaeden during the events of LEGION.
~ etc, etc, etc.
