Unit with "Hero Inventory" drops everything

Hey all,

I'm having a problem, I'm trying to make normal units capable of using items, so I'm giving them the "Inventory (Hero)" ability. It has always worked fine before, but I just made a new map, and when I set these units to Neutral Hostile, they just simply drop every item. Why is this happening and what can I do?
 
Change the unit in object editor to "drops items on death false" and then if you want to to drop some items you can make triggers for that
 
Do you add the items via trigger at the map initialiazion or you order the units to pick them up?

Edit: I made a simple map and it works for me, both ways. I am on patch 1.31.
I'm double clicking on the units and giving items to their inventories there. It always worked before.
