Okay what i need help with is how to make a spell where the projectile doesnt always hit the unit you cast it on.

Here what i mean: (What I don't want) Hero cast stormbolt on unit. Unit moves to a different location before stormbolt projectile hit him, but unit still take damage due to homing.

(What I want): Hero casts stormbolt on unit. Unit moves from the location in which he was originally standing when strombolt was cast on him. Stormbolt does not hit unit and rather goes to the location in which the unit was when hero cast the spell on the unit.

Spells like this: (Dota): Ice Arrow- sorry i had to use a dota example but ice arrow, as used by the priestess of the moon is the exact thing i need.

Elimination Tournament: Sniper shot- in elim tourny the guns --sniper-- fires how i need this ability to. Again this is exactyl what i need.

If anyone could gve me the triggers to make the ability happen (please not jass, although it might have to be) could you give me them? also show me how i can modify the damage and range of the ability.

On a final note: TAKING THE HOMING OFF SOTRMBOLT WILL NOT MAKE THIS WORK!

Use breath of fire as the base for the spell, change aoe and final aoe to the same number (thats how wide the projectiles damage will go). Then cahnge the missile art to the hammer or w/e you want.

Well you need some advanced triggering then! Or you use my method that is easier but does not look that good.
When you trigger it i would say go for a jass function, it will make things alot of easier and also Mui.

Or you can use Gui for it, for both you need to make a slide spell.
Then you create a unit instead of sliding the target.
Then you slide the target into direction of the casting point and check if its in range, there many Bullet Systems so look around.
Then after it comes in range kill it and pick every unit in range and cast stun on it. Or Shadow Strike or any other spell.

My method is alot easier and you can make it Mui, but its not that accurate.
First off you need to make a unit with flying height 25+, then you change the model.
After that you add the ability Mine - Exploding, this ability allows you to let this unit do suicide when it comes in range.
Casting Range is when its Activate, i would use 200 got the results also 100 or 150 is fine.

Then you send it with a move order to the targeted place and use a second trigger for when its death.
When its dead the trigger with the pick unit and do shadowstrike will run and you got the spell.

God i hope someone get this at all^^
