For editing Warcraft skins, just download Magos' Model Editor, Warcraft 3 Viewer, and any image editing program that can handle layers and .tga files. I recommend you download GIMP. It be free and is full of awesome.

The UV mapping and Oinker's MDL stuff is only for making/editing models.

I thought you would need the UV mapping program to put the skin on the model who's skin you edited.
