Thats a bad idea, maybe you should try transforming it into something that could prove useful because otherwise you're probably going to lose reputation for that.

Not really: accidents happen, transforming it into something 'useful' could just be a waste of time.

If something like this occurs (or you've solved the problem directly after posting the thread), you can press the reported post button and kindly ask the moderators to delete the thread.
Don't abuse the reported post function though... it's good for once, but keep in mind that moderators won't be cleaning up all your mess for nothing.
