sure did, and 3 things struck me right off the bat

Computer generated voices, really poor dialogue scripts and mediocre test chambers

By all means don't let me discourage you from trying it I mean its free 'n' all. It was pretty immature, however, of the lead developer to publish the contact information of one of the projects critics and encourage people to harass him.

Tried it out as well. Wasn't a fan.
The levels were hard, yes, but required absolutely no thinking to get through. It a test of timing, not a test of thought, which is what made Portal fun for me in the first place.
Not worth the 1 hour DL time it took, by any means.

Well I have heard news that Valve is working on an official Portal sequal/prelude so I guess we'll have to see how that one turns out.

Nah, we all knew that a sequel was necessary. GlaDOS needs to stay dead, but not Portal.

Ever seen Click? Sandler should have stayed dead.

I suppose I just worry they will tarnish the name, like so many other sequels.

I wasn't referring to a dislike of the man, just that the movie would have meant more if he stayed dead. Sorry, poor analogy; I'll work on them.

Yep, look at Half Life. Valve is amazing at creating a damned good story and keeping one hell of a sweeping continuity.

Alrighty, I played a bit of this Portal Prelude.

The challenges are just... difficult. They're not fun, they're just annoying and tedious. I watched some walkthroughs on youtube and the final level looks pretty decent, but the actual test chambers are just... hard.
