You mean it floats?

Well you gotta improvise then.

Make a black light-blubbly pool around it.
Like this example below; the black is oil, the gray are fences, the O is the 'derrick'

Say, how good are you with doodads?

You can try to construct one made of doodads.

it means use differnt doodads set at different hights and angles to get the look of an oil well.. it wont be animated though.. Doodads can be used as building blocks for modeling.. just as primitives are used in actual modeling

Primitives are shapes, Cone Sphere Cylinder Rectangle ect
