I've been playing this map for a total of around 30-40 hours and unable to progress.

I'm stuck south of the West Wing at "Massive Ruined Gate" which has "Been destroyed by something".

I'm guessing I need to get inside of there to get the Essence of Darkness to get into the West Wing. I'm quite certain I've been through every single thread by this point. I've grown sick of the "Riddle me this" as I just want to get past this point.
Please can someone give me a clear direction on what I need to do next?
