I need help with using models

For most models they're pretty straightforward, but I was looking into helping a friend by adding models and skins to his map and some models aren't working. I looked at the instructions over and over, but it keeps telling me to use the field Art - Model file - Portrait which I can't find (link http://www.hiveworkshop.com/forums/models.php?id=tgvzpx&p=tutorial_import)

I also am having trouble with some other models which have paths for skins, but I don't know what to do with the paths (i.e. http://www.hiveworkshop.com/forums/models-530/guardsman-84865/?prev=c=11&t=1&r=20&d=list&page=7)

Any help would be appreciated, I'm probably just overlooking something simple that I'm too much of a noob to notice.

The Art - Model file - Portrait is only for destructibles.
For units and doodads, put the portrait model in the same path as the regular model via the import manager, and the portrait model will automatically apply on your character's portrait screen.
For instance, ManBearPig_portrait.mdx must be in the same path as ManBearPig.mdx

About the changing paths, you can edit the paths in import manager. Just double-click in the imported skin and simply change it's path.
Usually, uploaders put the paths for their models in their descriptions (if you look carefully, you'll find the paths part).
