I used to be able to host Warcraft III maps on Battlenet. My computer kept crashing for reasons unknown(has nothing to do with warcraft) so we had to clear everything off my computer. I did of course, make back ups of all my maps, and saved games, and put them on the computer when I had reinstalled Warcraft III.

I have: Windows Vista Ultimate
Windows Firewall

Steps I Have taken:
I have opened the port:6112 in Firewall
Ports 6112-6119 on my Lynksis
Opened Warcraft's .exe on Firewall
Opened Warcraft III the Frozen Thrones .exe in Firewall

Also before I had to wipe my computer the Lynksis already excused the ports. I left it the same.

Try typing in your IP address in your browser (192.168.1.1 works too). Username and password is "admin".

Go to the tab Applications & Gaming. Go to the tab Port Range Forwarding.

Apply this, from left to right:
Application: warcraft3
Start: 6112
End: 6119
Protocol: Both
IP Address: 192.168.1.XXX
Enable: Tick the box.

Shouldn't ports 6112-6119 also be opend on the firewall instead of only 6112 or was that just a typo?

So i can be sure. How do I allow all the ports? Is there a way to allow them all at once, or do i have to add each one in(which i have already tried)

When I tried each of the things I said i have at the top, it lets me host for 5 minutes, then the next time I host something it doesnt work.(if that helps)

I know someone else who has that problem. You must re-log in or restart the game if you want to host again.

Not all routers are the same you know =p

But yeah have you only opened the ports on your firewall or also port forwarded them on your router? If not you should look up how to port forward the ports 6112-6119.

Download PortForward Port Checker, use that to know whether or not your ports are definitely blocked.

Try typing in your IP address in your browser (192.168.1.1 works too). Username and password is "admin".

Go to the tab Applications & Gaming. Go to the tab Port Range Forwarding.

Apply this, from left to right:

Enable: Tick the box.

Warcraft III only uses TCP, opening UDP is useless if not endangering your computer further.

Also, his IP address doesn't have to be 192.168.1.xx
At my dads place it was 10.1.1.x.
Also, he has to type his default gateway into his browser, not IP address.
Again, didn't he already state that he port forwarded?

I still cant host.

What i meant was. I host 1 thing i get a friend to join, so noone else comes, then I cant host anything when that is over.
If your friend can join and no one else joins, your port is successfully opened.
You just have a lot of bad luck with hosting on wc3, just like me (most of the time).

If your port WAS blocked, your friend would not be able to join unless he hacked into your computer and opened your ports to allow him access, which I highly doubt.

You'll just have to wait for others to join, or join other people's games.
Remember, get port checker to make sure that your ports 6112-6119 are all opened properly.

If you still cant host a very important port needs to be opened. Normally its default opened but, linksys they dont. Forward the port 4000 for TCP (Or what ever its called). And make sure 6112 is both UDP and TCP (or whatever they r called)

UDP isn't used by warcraft 3, which if portforwarded, just makes your computer more vulnerable to attacks...
