I just submitted a model yesterday and ran into the same problem. The model will show up in the last page of the model section, because its "Last Updated" time is Never, as you noticed...

To get my model onto the front page, I made a tiny change to the model and updated my submission (the tiny change was necessary because THW's server seems to not change the "Last Updated" time if you reupload an identical file), and in the past few hours I've gotten more downloads and comments than in the initial 24 hours...

This shouldn't be! A model's "Last Updated" time probably should default to the same as the Uploaded time.

As far as I know, the original idea was to push back all the pending models to the ass of the models section. However, there is the case that whenever you make a significant update to the model, it gets bumped to the front page. That's why some pending models are on the top, and some are on the bottom.

hmm as far as i know most of the pending models are on the first page ....
