how to show unit's animation

Yes. Either open the model field for the model on a unit in the object editor or place an object that uses the model on the map and select it. Then look at the main WE window on the left side. There is a small window that shows the unit. By clicking on the arrows next to the current animation name, you can cycle through them.

Alternatively, you can extract the .mdx of the model file from the .mpq, convert it to .mdl using Yobguls, and open it in Notepad and just read the animation names. This is also a good way to learn what attachment points a model has.
