Advanced resource system?

Hello I am newer to high level spells and Jass, and I am looking into possible ways to make a system for my map. The system I need is a resource gathering one, there is three main resources for now, but maybe more later. The three main ones are food, water, and ore. What I am needing help with is how to 1. make a system to handle multiple resources easily, 2. Change and modify resources nodes for many types of resources. No clue if this is the right forum or not, if not please point me to the right one.

WarCraft has 3 resource types, you can change their names, icons and such in the game interface menu.
Gold -> Ore
Lumber -> Water
Food ...

What do mean by "handle multiple resources easily"?

You can modify gold, lumber, food anytime with triggers.

PS: As your main issue is not connected to spells anyway,

Well, if you plan on adding more, look into a Multiboard.

Then, when a building is ordered to train something (or a unit is ordered to build a structure), and you don't have enough of the pseudo-resources, just order them to stop and print a fake error message.

Store the resources themselves in Integer Arrays
