if you're making a plain chess game I doubt many people would consider it useful as games like this are out and have much more things than plain chess.

Don't be so mean, I think Chess Games can be fun too, especially in Warcraft III. It's good to make classic stuff once in a while too, like Pac Man

It was Peppar's Multiplayer Chess, though it doesn't work with the new patch (though it is open source and fixable).

If youre making one, dont make it the chess peices now, it looks dull. make it Warcraft models. Like the horse is the knight model or the pack horse.

ehermmm, tell you the truth, I really like this Idea but the downside of this is you need to create a 'chess' engine' by triggering which is really really hard coz you need to create variations for it, one move alone can consist of hundreds of variations...

I suggest you create a chess 'cinematic' instead with a game of one of the great players...

I've never seen a Warcraft Lore based chess though, you could be a pioneer
