Howard Phillips Lovecraft (1890 – 1937) was an American author of horror, fantasy and science fiction. He is perhaps best known for his writings on the Old Ones, a race that has defined the 'Cosmic Horror' trope, among many others, for decades. His fiction has inspired hundreds of other works in gaming, film, music, and literature. The 'Mythos' works have inspired a cult following, and he is now considered one of the very best horror writers of the 20th Century.
