Getting custom items to drop

When you set a unit on the map to drop an item after death, ive noticed that custom items dont drop?? is this true and how can i encourage them to. Ive set the unit to 100% chance to drop level 8 item, and made sure the custom item is level 8 but no joy? any ideas how to solve this... Thanks

You go to the Item Editor. Look up your custom item.
There is a field called:
"Stats - Include as Random Choice" (or something like that)
Set that field to true.
