how do i do an effective check that a unit is attacked? (not like the one in GUI)

do you mean like a certain unit being attacked or a general unit? (certain unit being footman01, general being ground unit.) or do you mean a certain type of unit (footmen-specifying all footmen in general)

The current event EVENT_UNIT_ATTACKED can be easily abused, and sadly there isn’t any real substitutes that will work 100% of the time. Check out this link though.
