Neat concept, add some rivets on the sides of the metal to indicate that it was manufactured by a black smith. The red swirl on the top looks weird, i would just keep the glow coming off the right side.

Those red strands on the left look rather strange and undefined in small scale. The icon could do better without them.

How about some rivets on the other side as well?
