There are too many lines on the forehead and they form a pattern, making them look like the grain of wood. Once you remove them and find a more skull-like way to add detail to that part, this will be a very cool icon.

I don't really like the box around the mask, doesn't seem like a mask then.. also, maybe zoom in a little bit? It is hard to tell what it is when its so small.
