This is another Elite icon. It is revamped as well.
This Elite could either be an Elite Major or Elite Zealot, as in Halo Reach the Zealot is maroon too. Either way, they look awesome and kick ass.

Oh, i just dont remember encountering any purple elites in halo- time to step up from hardened and start playing legendary!

No, what I meant, is that those 'red' Elites that you see are actually purplish.
