I am not really deep in icon-making, but I can say that I really like it. It has detail, but I wouldn't define it as staff. There is no base >.>

I agree that the name really isnt fitting, but that's no reason to say the icon is bad.

I seriously don't see a staff or anything, it looks like a crystal croissant roll.. or a weird lamp, either way i would fix this up so it looks like a staff or whatever you wanted it to look like.
