Just use the redish orangeish color you have on the lazor now, and make a circle glow in the middle of the lazor. Also, make it darker so it wont blend with the lazors color.

make some nice glow and lightning looking effect on the edge of the laser, i think that would make it alot better, you should atleast give it a try :>
