Looks more like a shield. Maybe make the handle a bit bigger and attach it to the axe more clearly for better definition. You could also make some holes in the axe.

I like the colors and the composition, but at first glance I thought it is some sort of a halberd, not sure where the axe starts and ends.

Yeah i mean its just a name of the icon it can be whatever someone resembles it as.

How comes if you are asking others to provide processes of making icons but not showing your own?

Proccesses are mostly for proof asked from those new to icon making, ensuring there is some good amount of freehand. Panda is a veteran and no longer needs to prove himself.

He could provide the big pic though, in case you're curious.
