Sauron's army from Minas Morgul, led by the Witch-king of Angmar (chief of the Nazgûl or Ringwraiths) greatly outnumbered the combined armies of Gondor and its allies. This army comprised 250,000 orcs and men, who had allied with Sauron, and also trolls.
