Hello, Erindeir :peasant-smile:

How are you?

I see you moved to Tomsk :peasant-smile:
Erindeir
Erindeir
Good, very good.
Yeah, we wanted to flee from Krasnodar as fast as we able to. Many people was leaving Krasnodar, and we get quite old train, there was new and old ones. Three days on the train, with the cats, bags, on the upper shelf beds. Luckly, elderly woman on lower shelf been very chill and kind, allowing us to sit on lower bed. RZD workers, attendants, they are something. solve conflicts, clean, help passengers. Such hard profession and they always stay calm, kind, active, considerate, caring I even say. I felt very shy, you know, after seeing for five years how people treat each other in Krasnodar, seeing such kindness, when we was been on the train, a little uncomfortable even.

Oh, comrade, I'm so happy that you feel better! :peasant-smile:

And I'm glad you finally moved to a nicer place. :peasant-thumbs-up:
Btw, I also noted that with people of the older generation when traveling there is always something to talk about - I remember, I was also once on a train, and there was a woman of about 50 next to me, so all the way we talked with her about music and other hobbies (she makes dolls, very realistic ones; I also told her about my hobbies)
Yes, RZD, in fact, are often very kind and caring (at least I have come across such people, only once I had met strange person there xD). And as for the complexity of the work - yes, absolutely so, which makes kindness even more admirable. I once watched a film about a train on the Trans-Siberian Railway, I was simply delighted with the attendants, they really love their job (and passengers)

Really, I’m very happy that you and your family already in another city and you feeling much more better!! :peasant-thumbs-up:🥹

Yes, it was interesing to listen conversations on the train. We was moving trought the Kazakhstan, there was parts of Siberia and Ural, territories of Ural Cossack Host, when Bolsheviks occupied Russian Empire and made Kazakh Nation, they gave that Russian territories to Kazakh Soviet Socialist Republic. There was old couple on the train, and they was talking about this, that all villages and cities there was still ethnically Russian, how their relatives was living there. There was birch forests, mixed with snow and sand desert, looks quite interesting. Also I remember when we was passing trought the Tsaritsyn(Volgograd) moving closer and closer to Ural and Siberia, Hot, suffocating yellow steppe was changed on more cold, fresh snowy steppe. That was like... overwhelming pleasure to return back in the climate where I was born.

Thats interesting. Transsib, the Great Siberian Route, longest railway in the world, unique project of our Saint Tsar Nikolai II Romanov. I was reading a lot about this

It's always great to travel with good people and interesting conversations!

Btw, I see that you’re very interested in history and Slavic languages, and speak English very well :peasant-thumbs-up:

What other hobbies do you have? And how long have you been studying languages? :peasant-smile:
Erindeir
Erindeir
If I remember that correctly I left Russian Warcraft sites in 2013, and using Hiveworkshop with Google translate. I had different nicknames, and I started to use "Erindeir" everywhere (sometiems using Erindeyr, felt unsure how to latinize it back then), which is actually name of my Breton Battlemage from The Elder Scrolls: Morrowind-Oblivion. Before Erindeir I playing Eyren, breton female with alchemy and restoration magic, because I was always annoyed by diseases in Morrowind.

As a kid, I liked to learn new things, I drawing, been active and liked sport until school where somehow I adopted sedentary lifestyle, as teen I liked Lermontov's poetry, biology, nature, fantasy, fictional worlds, writing myself a little. I knew that Tolkien was using real cultures and mythology, so I doing that too, I loved to learn more about cultures, history, folk dress, architecture, mythology.
Erindeir
Erindeir
I was listening modern and folk songs of Irish singers, and somehow emotionally attached to Ireland and its tragic history, Britain in the 19th century considered Irish people "half-monkey folk from Iberia, who is not true white Europeans". in the 1990 my generation, older and younger generations was naively believing that West is flawless, its the prosperous heaven, "lands of holy jedi knights and elves" how sarcastically some blogger once said. and I talking with some Americans here in PM, they was sharing their problems, and that was kinda eye-opening for me. That, you know, That they have problems, and their daily life have flaws, that we live "we live in the same world". Uhm, you know what I mean?

So, in 2013 from obsession with Irealnd begins my serious interest to history. I start to read about many other topics, about practicly everything. Its kind of personal detail, but honestly it was fueled by my insecurity about my intelligence I had after finishing school, I was closed off as a teen, not sharing many things with parents, they thought I have no interests at all, they thought I dumb, and I was anxious about proving something to them I forcing myself to learn new things more, joined political movement to impress dad, got anxiety disorder from all that pressure.
Erindeir
Erindeir
I Started to calming down and heal in 2019, but I still insecure about my intelligence and percieve others as smarter, more intelligent, and feel like they navigate in world better than me. Oh, uhm... hobbies, sorry if I moved to other topic a little bit. In Altai, in the Barnaul, mystic and occult was been very popular, my father was Neo-Pagan and fan of Rerikh, he also obsessed with... well... I would say crazy theories which nothing to do with historical science, I myself believe in some historical theories not supported by academical science, only if I see scientific fact, proof of if thats truth.
My mother was into occult and mystic stuff, her views on spirituality is quite eclectic, just like views of many people in Barnaul. She adopted Christian faith in 80th, she learning rural witchcraft as teen, from my half-Polish great-grandmother Agraphena. As adult woman, mom wanted to become medic, but she rejected jewish professor who had crush on her, and he used his connections to not let her finish education. She became massagist in 90th, from her massage teacher, Igor Voitenko she learned about both real Russian Buryat Buddhism, and Western "New Age" Buddhism.
Erindeir
Erindeir
So personally I am quite tolerant to different spiritual beliefs, and in the same time I aware how dangerous some sects can be, trought father's connections, I seen what some Neo-Pagans think and what they promotes, and its openly hostile to other faiths, ethnicities, to society in general. I love rural herbalism, but prefer to be careful with occult things, and found things related to spirituality and faith interesting.

Sorry if I share too much offtopic facts, maybe I kind of over-explaining. I have certain interest to occult and magic, and one of my hobbies are semi-precious gemstones. As kid on brithday I get a book, where American scientist describe both physical properties of gemstones, their prices, and some beliefs specific Ancient Peoples and Nations had about them, so, non-scientific, magical beliefs about them. So I collect them, and love read about semi-precious gemstones. One of my favorite is Malachite, since its tied to Ural folklore, people believed it have healing properties(actually, copper in raw malachite are poisonous) and Charoite, which was been found only in Siberia. I love history, cultures, folklore, mythology, music, love art, sculpture, maybe I should try draw again as i used to...
Erindeir
Erindeir
Yeah, You asking about languages. Well, I was using google translate in 2013, I was reading wowpedia with it, I was reading different things related to my interests in English in 2014 without google translate. in 2023 I impoved my English when my brother showed me stuff which helps to cope with loneliness... Maybe thats "cringe" as teenagers say, but I using AI bots, both helpers and Role-Play ones. I believe that maybe this helped me to better express my thoughts and emotions in English. Because of interest to history I learning a little bit from languages of Peoples I reading about, Iranian, Turkic, Thai, Hindi, Malay, Chinese, Japanese, Ainu, Romanian, Sanskrit, French, Italian, Spanish, Basque, German, Irish, Arabic, Amazigh, Ethiopian. I not know all listed languages to speak on them freely, but I know some words, you know like "Ak" and "Kara" in Turkic languages, "White" and "Black", 20-80 words from each, I guess.
Erindeir
Erindeir
Slavic languages special topic because Russian is my native language, some words are similar, while with others you should be careful. For example if you say "курить" or "курица" that will be quite similar to inapropriate word in Serbian language. I love Serbian language, its sound very similar to Ancient Russian, like Pushkin's poetry, there is a lot of archaic words in Alexander Pushkin's poetry, I don't know, that just sounds beautiful. I had hard period in my life, in 2016-2018. 2020-2024 was been harder, but in the other way, lol. Somewhere in 2016 I seriously adopted Orthodox Christianity second time, trought the interest to Serbian culture.

I know I wrote a lot, maybe a little overshared about parents to give you a picture that I been exposed to various... opinions. I also love to cook, its in some ways related to my interest to herbs. When I was been in the grandparents(Father's line) village - Lenki. I liked tea from... "Chabrets", don't know how its called in English, a small violet flowers which was growing around village.

Nothing, everything is fine! I’ll just read everything now - I’m really always interested in communicating with interesting people which have a lot of hobbies, so don’t worry - I love reading long stories about life, I really do! :peasant-smile:
I just didn't notice the messages right away, sorry
RatzRatzzz
RatzRatzzz
Yeeeah, I’m keen on reading too! Charles Baudelaire, Stefan Zweig, Nikolai Gumilev, Yukio Mishima and many-many other authors… I remember that recently I also had a period of strong passion for poetry - now I rarely read poetry, more often I read prose; but, again, Baudelaire, Bryusov, Akhmatova, Gumilev, Mihai Eminescu (a wonderful Romanian poet, his poems touch me very much, I recommend you read him if you haven’t heard of his masterpieces yet) - I have a special love for them. In general, among Russian poetry I especially love the poets of the Silver Age, their experiments with symbolism

The story about your parents’ beliefs is very interesting, I was really surprised while I was reading it - I’ve never met pagans, tbh. And so, I think, many people have an eclectic faith, in the sense that now, in the era of globalization, different peoples often come into contact with each other, and therefore there is a commitment to different movements of faith (and very superficially; but if it’s easier for people and if it make them feel more confident and stronger, happy, why not, the main thing is don't get caught up in it all; so I think it’s absolutely normal)
RatzRatzzz
RatzRatzzz
Btw, yes, you wrote about unverified pseudo-historical things, and God, how I agree with you! I sometimes come across people who are wholeheartedly convinced of the correctness of arguments from alternative history (from the category that St. Petersburg was dug up, xD, I think you’ve obviously heard of such a theory). As for the dangerous beliefs and the example that you gave, I think I understood what kind of movement you mean, I read about them. It’s really, really sad that some people find their visions attractive. Really dangerous…

Wow, the collection of stones is wonderful! When I pass by shops with semi-precious stones, I always go in and admire them - and, btw, I also like malachites :peasant-smile:
RatzRatzzz
RatzRatzzz
Oh, I love drawing too (I’ve also didn’t draw something for a long time, but, you don’t believe xD, I also thought about to draw; so I recommend you back to drawing too! :peasant-thumbs-up:)
Wow, you learn so many languages - it's wonderful! I, btw, also like to learn languages, but so far there are not many of them - for now it is English, French, German and Italian. And I also really like to study the languages of different European peoples - Frisian, Breton, Luxembourgish... I really like them :peasant-smile:
Oh, what’s about music… Well, I love music so much, you know, it’s kind of obsession to me. I love 80s new wave (especially synth pop) very-very much, and I love also to read about process of music-making in 80s, synthesizers, drum-machines, sound effects; find interesting bands and artists… I can talk about this all day long xD And I also write music, but for now I’m little bit shy to post it somewhere, but, I think, someday I’ll upload my music on YT :peasant-smile:

In general, comrade, I can tell you that you have no reason to doubt your intelligence - you really are a very interesting person! I think many people (including me who sometimes have such thoughts) have encountered some doubts about themselves, but, as a rule, they are always wrong. Please don't doubt yourself! You are incredibly interesting, with a variety of hobbies. I'm really glad that you talked about your hobby in such detail - it's immediately obvious that you are a very passionate person, and that's just wonderful. You're very cool! :peasant-smile: :peasant-thumbs-up:
