Well like most modelers, animations are the most boring part for me ! it's long and difficult, I usually make long breaks during that phase and it's easy to just quit...
Anyway, if you look at my models you will see that I never ever start from scratch ! You can always find an existing model that has most fitting anims and skeleton, and then I build upon that.
If you send me a mesh you have, I can try to give you advices if you wish. But my process is usually the opposite, I start the job by finding the model with the most suitable anims and use it as base file, then I paste some geosets in it and work from that.
