It's just what I expected - Warcraft 3: Reforged to World of Warcraft.
Fortunately, we can use the old War3 and the new editor tools and playerbase
I'm 50/50 on it to be honest. But it's a disgrace nonetheless.
Looking back, I prefer the TFT Intro Cinematic Naga over WoW Naga. I wish they'd gone with that style for Reforged.
The buildings also look plastic. The human ones at least.
And yes, it was quite disheartening to see the stiffness.
Well... yes. It's still a good change.. I just wish it was more. I mean it's the only good thing blizzard has done for the last 8-10 years and it just wasn't enough to make up for all the failures.
I guess I kinda always wished they would come back with a bang, like, open up with Warcraft IV and it'd be AMAZING... (or Diablo IV) but... I guess not. It's just a large corporation ruled by money now, like all the others. All the main people have already left (mike morhaime, chris metzen, that main business dude I forgot the name of). W/e. They weren't very good anyway in the last few years either way. Didn't do shit.
But I had already given up on the company after Diablo III and all other failures so I'm not that disappointed. I guess what got crushed by this update is my hopes that they'd come back miraculously or make Warcraft IV.
Honestly, I'd rather if they didn't ever make Warcraft IV. It'd be a world of warcraft failure... just let it rest in peace, it's what they should have done with Diablo. Hmm. Thinking back on it, I guess this update disappoints in a similar kind of way, although it is good in all regards except art direction.. so it's not that bad again. It's not even bad, it's good. I just. I don't know.
If my brother wasn't there hyping it the entire time, I would've been more open to admitting that the trailer was underwhelming. (I wanna blame others right now, lol)
I longed for something that looked as good in-game as it did in the cinematics. And when I saw the stiffness, I was let down.
The reason why I didn't feel as bad as you probably did, is that I stopped feeling for WC3 in general when I left Hive over a couple of years ago. Which I'll probably be doing again, based on how the next few days go.
