That is true. Every new model here has to have their own talking animations rigged into them which the old models do not have. And the talking portraits do not appear in the new version right? I don't know, it'll be hard to mod a believable cinematic that doesn't use the new assets.

I'm still hopeful that the classic version that can be interchanged with the new one retains the old cinematic style, with the portraits and all.

They don't seem to appear so far. It is understandable they would not want both at the same time, as two talking faces on screen would look confusing and weird.

I would like you to be right, but I don't know. Modders will be punished for using old assets in the remaster, so much of the Hive's resources will lose value because of that. Over a decade of modding.

It's sad indeed. Not only for us, the mapmakers but also to those who has created all these awesome models through the years, their work might simply be forgotten.

PS. Not to mention the fact that it might also take a long time for modding to catch up with the more complex style of models. We might simply not see them as much in the future.

It will take time and who knows if we will ever get as many resources again, many great artists have left and who knows how many are willing to start again from zero.
And of course Blizz is selling skins to make more money with the remake...

Yes, that's typical of Activision Blizzard these days. They simply don't care that they are destroying the community to sate their insatiable greed for money. :/

Not even a discount if you own the base game - a cash grab, that is all that this is.
