It does? But the quote is quote mined (though I did leave the source for those interested in it).

adding ", that we need more information in order to help you." should make it a better quote imho.

I don't think the quote becomes better with it since it becomes more specific to that situation (while the intent was to make it more to the point), but I guess it's more honest this way. So I edited it in now.

(note: fixed my first post, with a better sentence).

I understand your point in the thread, but you made it so many many *many* times, and with such a harsh tone overall imho... Maybe you will want to re-read it someday, to understand what went wrong, and when?

Well, if my motivation is to be a nice THW member, everything went wrong, and I know exactly what.

Since it is not my motivation to be nice, but to be true to my impulse instead, nothing went wrong. I just expressed my opinions in a manner according to how I felt about the issue and the person at the moment.

If you want to see which oils fueled the fire as well, I sent you a PM with additional info.

Thank you. Even though this excerpt is a bit out of its context, it is not very important in this case imho.

In all honesty, I believe that all this mess happened because of the language barrier, and/or because he is not very fluent with English (he might eventually be of Spanish origin).

Now, maybe you will want to consider expressing your opinions based on your impulses, only when they do not stretch too much the Hive's recommendations regarding courtesy with others? Or maybe after a good night's sleep, to hopefully consider things from a different point of view?

THW aspires to remain a helpful and friendly community overall iirc. One obviously can and *must* have his/her say his own way when appropriate, but there is also imho no need to push things too far...

Oh, and thanks for restoring the full sentence. It is now true to its original, intended meaning imho.

When I partly quote someone, I personally generally use [...].

It was partially quoted because it's not the first time a thing like that was said, it has actually happened quite a number of times in the past, and that was a joke. Now it's just some random quote.

I have a tendency to wrap a good message in a bunch of insults, so as to make everyone uncomfortable, when they both know I am right, but can't openly side with me, so it's interesting to see how they approach supporting my idea without supporting me. It's literally done to my amusement and there's no deeper message in it.

When I made chaos about the icon standards, I did the same thing, people realized I'm right, but couldn't agree with ME because that'd make them the bad guys. And the point is, the idea that i planted in people's minds might be originally mine, but now it's also theirs, detached from me as a source.

As for the guy, I understand that he's not that good at English, but he's good enough to tell others they are rude, salty, say stuff like "you don't know who you're talking to" etc. If you know 5 ways to insult a person but don't know how to explain your project, that obviously raises a red flag.
