    Light magic primarily contains buff spells that empower your own troops, and spells that deal damage in certain situations. At the highest tier, it can also heal units.

    It is available to Archmage, Bandit lord, Centaur chieftain, Farseer, Mountain king and the Questing Knight.

    The effect of a spell depends on the hero's Spellpower and Skill level of Light magic skill.
    Basic Light: 1
    Advanced Light: 2
    Expert Light: 3

    Some spells are improved by a secondary Perk.

    [​IMG] Inquisitor - increases Spellpower by 5 when casting non-buff spells (the spells that do not use Spellpower for their duration), such as Resurrection and Sun strike.

    [​IMG] Sanctuary - each time you cast a Light magic spell on your units, each affected unit gains a 10% magic resistance, stacking up to 4 times for 40%. This includes all buff spells, Crusade, Dispel and Resurrection, but not Retribution.

    [​IMG] Lord of Blessings - makes Bless and Dispel mass spells, affecting units in a 5x5 square, and halves the time until your next turn after casting them.

    [​IMG] Abjurer - makes Endurance and Deflect missile mass spells, affecting units in a 5x5 square, and halves the time until your next turn after casting them.

    [​IMG] Master of Wrath - makes Haste and Righteous might mass spells, affecting units in a 5x5 square, and halves the time until your next turn after casting them.

    Tier 1 spells (available from the start)

    [​IMG] Bless [4 mana] - increases your unit's minimum damage.
    Adds to minimum damage a percentage of the difference between min and max, rounded up.
    Base effect: 55%
    Every skill level increases the effect by 15%
    Duration: 1 turn per Spellpower
    - Bless is a counter to Curse - whichever is cast later replaces the former.
    - This spell is affected by "Lord of Blessings" perk.
    - This spell is affected by "Sanctuary" perk.

    [​IMG] Haste [4 mana] - increases a unit's Initiative, letting it get turns more often.
    Base effect: 15%
    Every skill level increases the effect by 5%
    Duration: 1 turn per Spellpower
    - Haste is a counter to Slow - whichever is cast later replaces the former.
    - This spell is affected by "Master of Wrath" perk.
    - This spell is affected by "Sanctuary" perk.

    [​IMG] Sun strike [5 mana] - delayed blast that deals fire damage in the target square at the start of the caster's next turn. The spell does good damage, but if the target moves away between your turns it will miss.
    Base damage: 50 + 7x Spellpower
    Every skill level increases the damage by 25 + 2x Spellpower
    - The damage is increased by 50% when targeting a Demon unit to mitigate their innate fire resistance; if you have items that let you bypass magic resistance (Staff of Purity or Mantle of Intelligence), the spell becomes more effective against Demons that other units.
    - This spell is affected by "Inquisitor" perk.

    Tier 2 spells (unlocked at level 4)

    [​IMG] Endurance [6 mana] - increases a unit's Defence.
    Base effect: +5
    Every skill level increases the effect by +2
    Duration: 1 turn per Spellpower
    - Disintegrate spell removes this buff outright, but Disrupting ray or Faerie fire just stack with it.
    - The bonus defence may not be reduced by effects like Disrupting ray; if a unit's innate defence reaches 0, it will still have the full Endurance bonus left.
    - Armor piercing ability works against Endurance.
    - This spell is affected by "Abjurer" perk.
    - This spell is affected by "Sanctuary" perk.

    [​IMG] Dispel [8 mana] - removes positive buffs from an enemy, or negative debuffs from your own unit.
    Base effect: 160 + 5x Spellpower
    Every skill level increases the effect by 100 + 2x Spellpower
    - Dispel reduces the duration of every buff/debuff on the target by 1% of a turn for every point of the effect. A Dispel with 500 effect reduces duration by 5 turns. 1 turn of Poison or Entangling roots requires 100 effect power to remove.
    - Every buff/debuff is reduced by the amount, no matter how many there are.
    - If the target is a summoned enemy unit, it will take damage equal to spell effect. This damage is unaffected by magic resistance.
    - Does not affect Bloodlust, or any effect that has no duration (Crusade, Retribution, permanent stat changes like Contagion, Ensnare, Maim, Disrupting ray)
    - Removes Frost armor of an enemy Ice mage despite it technically having no duration
    - This spell is affected by "Lord of Blessings" perk.
    - This spell is affected by "Inquisitor" perk.
    - This spell is affected by "Sanctuary" perk.

    [​IMG] Honour [4 mana] - increases the target's Morale.
    Base effect: +1
    Every skill level increases the effect by 1
    Duration: 1 turn per Spellpower
    - May not target Undead or Mechanical units.
    - Honour is a counter to Sorrow - whichever is cast later replaces the former.
    - This spell is affected by "Sanctuary" perk.

    Tier 3 spells [available from level 7]
    Casting these requires Basic Light skill, or Wisdom perk from Sorcery

    [​IMG] Deflect missile [6 mana] - reduces ranged damage taken by the target.
    Base effect: -35%
    Every skill level increases the effect by -10%
    Duration: 1 turn per Spellpower
    - Unlike the Shields or Resist ranged abilities, Deflect missile works against units with Magic attack
    - This spell is affected by "Abjurer" perk.
    - This spell is affected by "Sanctuary" perk.

    [​IMG] Righteous might [6 mana] - increases the target's Attack.
    Base effect: +5
    Every skill level increases the effect by +2
    - Righteous might is a counter to Enfeeble - whichever is cast later replaces the former.
    - This spell is affected by "Master of Wrath" perk.
    - This spell is affected by "Sanctuary" perk.

    [​IMG] Holy word [7 mana] - freezes the target, delaying its turn.
    Base effect: 25 + 3x Spellpower
    Every skill level increases the effect by 25 + Spellpower
    - Reduces the target's Initiative to 0 for effect/total_health turns
    - If the target is a Demon or Undead, it deals non-elemental damage equal to spell effect.
    - This spell is affected by "Inquisitor" perk.

    Tier 4 spells (require level 10)
    Casting these requires Advanced Light skill, or Wisdom perk from Sorcery

    [​IMG] Antimagic [8 mana] - grants the target some magic resistance.
    Base effect: 10% + 2x Spellpower
    Every skill level increases effect by 10%
    Duration: 100 turns
    - This spell is affected by "Inquisitor" perk.
    - This spell is affected by "Sanctuary" perk.

    [​IMG] Flight [10 mana] - makes the target fly. May only target a unit with total health less than spell effect.
    Base effect: 275 hp + 17x Spellpower
    Every skill level increases the effect by 175 + 7x Spellpower
    Duration: until the end of the battle
    - At the start of the unit's next turn, it gains "Flying" ability, and its Speed increases to 10.
    - This spell is affected by "Inquisitor" perk.
    - This spell is affected by "Sanctuary" perk.

    [​IMG] Smite [16 mana] - deals fire damage to the target depending on how guilty it is.
    Base effect: 1% per Spellpower
    Every skill level increases the effect by 10%
    - May not target mechanical units
    - The damage may not be dodged
    - Each time a unit is damaged somewhere, the "guilt" of whoever's turn it is increases by the damage (except when the unit is damaged itself)
    - When this spell is cast, it deals a % of the "guilt", and then the unit's "guilt" is reset to 0
    - Minimum damage is 1 per % of spell effect
    - This spell is affected by "Inquisitor" perk.

    Tier 5 spells (require level 13)
    Casting these requires Expert Light skill, or Wisdom perk from Sorcery

    [​IMG] Retribution [12 mana] - protects the unit, hurting anyone that attacks it.
    Base damage: 40 + 2x Spellpower
    Every skill level increases the damage by Spellpower
    - Each time the unit is attacked by an enemy, they will take the spell's damage
    - The damage may not be dodged or reduced by magic resistance
    - Does not hurt retaliating enemies, only those actively attacking
    - Is not triggered by splash damage or cleave
    - Is not triggered by spell damage
    - This spell lasts until the end of the battle, or until the target is slain
    - This spell is affected by "Inquisitor" perk.

    [​IMG] Resurrection [12 mana] - heals the target unit and revives slain creatures.
    Base effect: 100 + Spellpower
    Every skill level increases the effect by 10 + Spellpower
    - The spell is more effective for lower-level creatures: the effect is increased Sqrt(6 - level) times, meaning it is ~2.23 times better for level 1 creatures than level 5 creatures.
    - Unlike Restoration from Summoning magic, does not reduce attack and defence of the target
    - This spell is affected by "Inquisitor" perk.
    - This spell is affected by "Sanctuary" perk.

    [​IMG] Crusade [14 mana] - your units become faster and regenerate.
    Base effect: 25 + 3x Spellpower
    Every skill level increases the effect by 10
    - Affected units gain +1 Speed and heal every turn for spell effect
    - The spell ends if you cast another spell with the hero
    - This spell is affected by "Inquisitor" perk.
    - This spell is affected by "Sanctuary" perk.
