  • Tol Barad and Kul Tiras stay exactly in their place as is as WC2 and WC3
  • no shoehorned locations like Mechagon, Dragon Isles, Shala'drassil, Stormheim, etc.

in Classic:
  • Plot:
    • Alliance:
      • The Alliance manages to reclaim Southshore, Purgation Isle, the Dalaran Observatory, and Pyrewood.
      • The surviving High Elves in Lordaeron retreat and join Dagren the Orcslayer to Theramore and rejoin the High Elves from the Kalimdor Expedition. While Rhonin rallies the survivng Dalarani in the Eastern Kingdoms, Vereesa rallies the remaining High Elves loyal to the Alliance and they establish a High Elven wing in Theramore City. Later on they also establish a High Elven wing in Stormwind City
    • Forsaken:
      • Sylvanas gains major footholds in the Lordaeronian subcontinent. The Blackthorn Bandits reclaim Alterac City, Tarren Mill, and Durholde Keep in the name of the Forsaken. Alterac City is slightly rebuilt and made as the capital city for the Alteraci
      • In place of the Horde, the Forsaken reach out for possible survivors in Quel'thalas. Though wary, Lor'themar Theron accepts an alliance of convenience with the undead and the Alteraci, both of whom had terrible history with the Blood Elves. With cooperation, the Forsaken successfully liberate Silvermoon and clear it from undead and Cult of the Damned camps. The undead elves and Dark Rangers resettle in West Silvermoon and the Windrunner Spire
    • Sentinels:
      • Tyrande cannot trust the Alliance because of the mages and High Elves in their ranks and it goes against their values. The Sentinels became increasingly hostile to the Alliance after discovering Dwarven mining and quarrying expeditions in Ashenvale and Felwood.
      • In place of the Alliance, the Sentinels recruit the Furbolg survivors and the Cenarions to their ranks. They also conscript native Dark Trolls in exchange for continued living in Ashenvale
      • The Shatterspear Tribe is reappropriated as a Dark Troll tribe and the Shatterspear Vale has been made as the central Dark Horde capital with Dark Troll refugees from other tribe such as the Shadowtooth. The Sentinels allow the Dark Trolls to hold diplomatic meetings with the Horde's Darkspears under strict supervisions.
    • Horde:
      • Rexxar pledges the Stonemaul Ogres to the Horde. The Horde has access to mages via the Ogre Magi
    • Batllegrounds:
      • Alterac Valley is contested with the Horde by the Frostwolf Clan, the Forsaken by the Alteraci, and the Alliance by the Stormpike Dwarves and Alliance loyalists from the Alteraci
      • Hillsbrad is the contested the with the Alliance by the Dalarani, Lordaeron and Alteraci loyalists, and the Forsaken by the Undead Lordaeronians and Alteraci.
      • South Ashenvale continues being a battleground with the Horde by the Warsong Clan, and the Sentinels by the Night Elf defenders and the local Furbolgs
        • However, while Orcs are fighting the Night Elves, the Tauren instead mediates with the Sentinels by the Cenarion Circle with restoration operations in the Felwood and Mannoroth's Valley
      • Dustwallow Marsh is contested with the Horde by the Stonemaul Orcs, and the Theramore colonists
    • Neutral Cross Factions:
      • The Argent Dawn led by Tirion Fordring allows itself to be a diplomatic hub between the Alliance and Forsaken in the Plaguelands and Light's Hope Chapel becomes a staging ground for them against the Scourge and the Cult of the Damned.
      • The Ravenholdt led by Jorach Ravenholdt allows itself to be a non-partisan diplomatic hub between the Alliance, Forsaken, and the Horde in the Hillsbrad Foothills
      • The Kirin Tor led by Rhonin allows itself to be a diplomatic hub between the Alliance and Forsaken in Ambermill though the surviving Archmagi are very wary of the Forsaken mages, especially that of the Blood Elven and Alteraci.

In The Burning Crusade:
  • Plot:
    • Sylvanas orders Varimathras and some Warlocks and Mages to reopen the Dark Portal, allowing the Blood Elves to reunite with Kael's forces and reopening the link between Outland and Azeroth
      • Alliance and Forsaken relations are strained even further when the Blood Elves from Outland narrate their story on how the Lordaeronians sent Blood Elves on a suicide rush to the Scourge and Burning Legion remnants in Dalaran and have them sentenced for execution.
        • Rommath sends Blood Knights and Magisters to both Light's Hope Chapel and Ambermill as watchful observers out of wariness to the neutral factions.
    • Alliance:
    • Horde:
    • Forsaken:
    • Sentinels:
      • A group of Night Elven Highbornes visit Ashenvale and are rejected an audience with Tyrande. Shandris instead meets with them and is continuosly hostile to them and she eventually just turns them away and to never return with the threat of kill on sight.
    • Classes:
      • Thrall and Varian reluctantly approve clandestine warlock guilds within their factions as long as they are away from the towns.
      • Tyrande allows the Dark Trolls to have warlocks and mages on the condition that no warlock nor mage shall set foot in Ashenvale with the penalty of death.
        • Dark Troll mages and warlocks find sanctuary in various Sentinel camps across Central Kalimdor and Silithus
      • The Blood Elves and Alteraci have finished training as paladins. The Argent Dawn is now also a neutral hub for Paladins for the Alliance and Forsaken
      • The Tauren have have finished retraining as druids and then they share their knowledge to the Darkspears. The Cenarion Circle is now a neutral hub for the Sentinels and the Horde
      • The Furbolg population now has enough shamans for deployment
      • The Wildhammer Dwarves have formally rejoined the Grand Alliance, granting the Alliance access to druids and shamans.
      • The Blood Elves experiment with their stolen magic from the Amani, and with breakthroughs, some of them learn to be Botanists, allowing them to have Druids playable
    • Sub-races:
      • The Horde reconnects with the Forest Trolls of Zul'aman and establishes Tor'watha as a Horde forward base and fort.
        • Darkspear Trolls get a Forest Troll sub-race option with Zul'aman as a new alternate starting city.
        • The eastern runestone by Lake Amani becomes a battleground for Horde vs. Forsaken.
      • With the Alliance formally restoring relations with the Wildhammer Dwarves, the Bronzebeard Dwarves receive a new Wildhammer sub-race option with Aerie Peak as a new alternate starting city
      • With more Ogres indulging in magics, Ogres receive a new Ogre Magi sub-race option.

then perhaps make Cataclysm go first before WotLK since I feel Arthas should die later than Deathwing, whereas

  • Alliance: gets Highborne after they were cast out for good from the Night Elves
  • Horde: gets Goblins after Kezan tragedy
  • Forsaken: gets Satyrs to gain a proper foothold in Kalimdor
  • Sentinels: gets Gilneans since they feel responsible for Worgens, and to gain a proper foothold in Eastern Kingdoms

then in WotLK they get Death Knights as usual

then in MoP, Alliance and Forsaken get Dark Iron Dwarves from Moira/Dagran faction, respectively; and then Horde and Sentinels from Huojin/Tushui faction, respectively

WoD doesn't happen and the Legion arrives when Varimathras betrays Sylvanas and the Forsaken in this time instead, then the factions finally reunite with some of certain races to their fold (except Sentinels, who took the opportunity to get Tuskarrs as their ally instead)

Alliance: gets Kul Tirans
Horde: gets Zandalari
Forsaken: gets Demon Hunter (with customization skins of Blood Elf, Night Elf, Fel Orc, and Satyr)
Sentinels: gets Tuskarr

after Legion, the denizens of Azeroth finally confront the Old Gods -> The War Within

of course the Stormwindian would eventually get Dalarani skin, Bronzebeard with Wildhammer and Frostborn skin, Orc gets Shattered Hand skin, Tauren with Highmountain and Taunka skin, Ogre with Ogre Magi and Dire Ogre skin, Blood Elf with Darkfallen and Dark Ranger skin, Furbolg with Polar Furbolg skin, and Darkspears with Amani, Drakkari, and Farakki skins
