The cliff bro! THE CLIFF! The tiled walls doesn't really fit with Dalaran's dirt and rough dirt tiles for some reason even though they're on the same tileset. I suggest you try to import some Ogare's rock models and ruined blocks and arc then start making a mountain using those rocks and the height tools and to make it look like a ruined place use the ruined block, arcs etc.
Dude! it looks like our brain waves is trying to connect with each other via wifi
Yes I just imported all of Ogre's models early this morning and now scraping out the fillers and doing myself a palette. Dalaran Ruin's dirt, rough dirt, and grass really do blend and that's my goal right now design the terrain.
Actually, I got a confession to make, I'm actually using your wifi. lulz
Damn, I got a feeling that this will be something awesome. Just make sure to never touch the tile placement of the dirt, rough dirt and grass.(If you didn't get that, I'm telling you to leave them on their current placement: Dirt -> Rough Dirt -> Grass. It looks sexier like that than the smooth placement that this new melee mappers are doing.
If I can get the terrain right as well on game play its really going to be awesome ha!
EDIT: btw I need some help, how come Ogre's terrain fog and custom light environment totally changes the appearance of the map while I followed every fog coordinates up to his chosen light environment but it turned my map into green, do you know any remedy for that? I can't contact your profile btw lol
His fog coordinates are: Z Start=1033, Z End=3250, and Density = 0.50 while his light environment is on 'Underground' theme, I followed everything and then this happens:
His beast:
I suggest you change the light environment to something like Dalaran Ruins. Underground most of the time ruins the normal lightning of doodads like tree, rocks etc. I only recommend it if you're trying to imitate a gore-ish, undead type of atmoshpere
Stop spamming shrubs, you can put a few here and there but just not spam them. Also tint them down to:
R = 140
B = 126
G = 104
And the flower doodad to:
RGB = 120-140 (depends on you.)
If you happened to follow my advice, then you can use the dalaran's Dalaran Ruin's Tree Wall (The one on the screenshot.) and it will most likely look like this:
Will follow that shrub idea of yours, I'll just make it dark greener and less spammy
I think there are only three poseable light environment in WE, Felwood turns the map green, Underground makes it red, while the rest has same output as a highlighted white color. Still thanks for that, I'll post some results later
