Original Keiji and fladdermasken: The Makeshift

So, this is one of three co-terrains I've ever done, it's rather old but very dear to me, the idea and doodad placement was mostly done by me and the atmosphere was done by fladdermasken. I'll write more about the idea in a post if you're interested.
This was way back when I was still an aspiring writer, and it was meant to represent what I imagined would be an iconic scene in what would be my "magnum opus": Dawn of Life, my very own Lord of the Rings, or A song of Ice and Fire, etc. "The Makeshift" was an idea I had of this main artery going into the capital of the elves where trade-carts never stopped to unload their wares, they just sort of moseyed along lazily while cranes and hooks attached to their supplies, unloading supplies continuously in an ever moving, ever changing, makeshift atmosphere (Heh).

Here's a link to the story, if you for some reason want to read it: The Makeshift Rewritten

Also, do drop by fladdermasken's profile page and give him a follow, won't you? Thanks (I miss you, mate.)

Reading the fragment, I guess it'd be too much (character movement and reaction) to have it as a cinematic on that terrain.

What became of it?

Congrats on the collab. It's not always easy getting on common ground.

Yeah, what follows is a very assassins creed-like scene where the prince acrobats his way across the tops of cranes and carts and ropes, fighting thieves (called "Vultures" in the story) along the way in order to get to a very particular wagon seeking to leave the city. So, probably not very good wc3 cinematic material.

What became of the story you mean? Well. Like most apple ciders that are forgotten and left out to ferment on their own, it turned into sour vinegar instead of an aged old wine. That is to say I completely lost all interest in writing and gave up on becoming an author, or at least university killed my conviction. I do still write some poetry and stuff from time to time, and there is a very distant corner of my mind that still whispers that one day I will rediscover my love for penmanship and maybe get my head out of the gutter and get back to finishing this or some other story, but yeah.

It was a great collaboration :) Me and fladdermasken were really close back then, we even visited each other a couple times (He's Swedish and I'm Norwegian, neighboring countries), I do honestly regret that we didn't do more of these together, but what can you do.

Thanks for taking the time to check out the text, even though it's pretty old and doesn't represent my currently skill-level of writing, it's still very much appreciated! :D
