To be honest, i'm not so advanced to have a technique.
When i draw i let myself to be led by the inspiration of the moment.
So, i'm exploring.
I mostly use simple circle fuzzy brushes(70% opacity). Smudge, dodge, burn, blur/sharpen, brightness/contrast tools when needed(mainly for adjustment).
For fitting to my needs, i handle the value and saturation of the colors (that i've chose) in normal mode.
So, for the portraits, i'm fascinated by the facial expressions, eyes, lips, wrinkles and...a lot of things.
I love to observe those things and thus i learn.
