Finally showcasing the inventory and UI systems for Acolyte of Life. This is a huge milestone for the project as a whole. The item system is probably one of ...
An inventory system is insanely difficult and tedious.
I can't imagine all the work you did to reach this polished state, well done.
What was your inspiration for it? Definitely feel some divinity original sin 2 vibes.

I can't really say I drew inspiration from anything in particular. We had several rounds, discussions back and forth, and talked about the necessary features. It needed to be simple for players, yet support infinite items, and multiple characters. The brainstorming resulted in the systems you see in the video. I'd say the final product came naturally as a direct result of what we needed the systems to do, not necessarily anything that inspired us.
The art direction however is like other inventory systems you probably have seen in other RPGs. Standard layout, haven't tried reinventing the wheel, visually speaking. If anything, I drew inspiration from the creator of the texture assets themselves, a Unity asset creator.
