I wanted to add a flag on the back pole but I don't know how to add stuff, also the helm (steering wheel) shouldn't be on this kind of ship as they had other controls (or atleast not on the quarter deck), other than that I can tell it works in game. Though this isn't a really proper Cog from the 10th century, I can say this model of it existed: https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/736x/17/67/e6/1767e683ef33e67b0712ca959b06a1eb.jpg
Oh, I have seen some of the map pictures of your map.
I'm not sure, but if I recall correctly, these ships had some kind of lever for steering wheel, but I don't really know.
When I return home I'll check more about your project, I'm sure it will be interesting
This Cog is an edit of the carrack model you shared a while ago too, right?
I think that the other ship models of the 16th century pack hide the weirdness of the wood texture by having a lot of stuff on the vessel itself. Maybe adding some more detail to other parts, like, adding a little sail on the front or making the main sail bigger could help, but, I'm not really sure, and don't really know how accurate it would be.
Also, do you still need the sail on the Lad'ya and the removal of animations? If you'd like I can try to have a go at fixing them, but I can't promise that I won't create the most hideous boat ever seen by man
