RETURN OF A CLASSIC
In Choplifter, the player assumes the role of a combat helicopter pilot. The player attempts to save hostages being held in prisoner of war camps in territory ruled by the evil Bungeling Empire. The player must collect the hostages and transport them safely to the nearby friendly base, all the while fighting off hostile tanks and other enemy combatants. According to the backstory, the helicopter parts were smuggled into the country described as "mail sorting equipment."

Flight System
I have started working on the GUI flight system that allows lift. Also, the pilot will be able to exit the chopper and fight on the ground. I might add a selection of choppers at the players main base with different stats. For example one might be fast but have less armor and firepower, and one may be heavy and slow. I might even have a chopper that is an attack chopper with no cargo hold for hostages. I plan to make the game two player and have both players running missions against each other. There would be a limit to the number of choppers, maybe only 1 of each type. There would be a limited number of deaths allowed, possibly only 1. I plan to use fuel systems for the choppers and have them refuel at their main base. Models will all be modern warfare and I will use a modern UI.

Progress Update:
#1: A few models imported and UI added. Flight System works but still in the early stages of development. Added custom radar in-game mini-map backgroup.
#2: New models, chopper sound, movie added!
#3: Added resource icons and fuel system. Hostage rescue system starting to take form but not complete.
#4: Hostages now get in chopper, sort of. New original cursor added. Quest log added. Quest messages added. Death upon running empty added.
