Missile Effect - Kill Missile?

Is there a way to kill a launch effect that uses a search area effect to damage units. This is what I have

Launch Effect
  • Creates the missile
  • Launch Effect - Applies Behavior(Buff with search area)

Search Area
  • Search for enemy units
  • Applies damage effect in the search filter

So is there a way that when the search effect finds an enemy unit and damage it, to kill the missile instead of just continuing forward?

Missles are units, they can take damage like every normal unit and thus can die like every normal unit.

The difference is that missles will automatically die after a certain time or upon reaching their target and running the explosion effect. Missles usually are not targetable normally as they are known as missles and as such need effects which can interact with them.

This allows for cool stuff like the good old mothership we saw from development footage with its stasis field which pysically caused missles to stop dead in their tracks and fall to the ground once it wore off. You can also make a Diablo III wizard's chrono sphere ability easilly just by applying a slow buff to the missles. Ofcourse you can always add a laser defense system to carriers so they can shoot nearby projectiles while moving and firing inteceptors.
