Max hostable map dimensions

What are the biggest dimension that a map can have and be hostable on battle.net, is 256x256 the max or can I host a bigger one?

I know that WEU can create maps bigger than 256x256 but I don't think you can host them online.

256*256 is the max hostable size.

i guess 480x480 is hostable because it's only the size of the map itself that matters, not the bounds.
As long as it's max 4 MB (8 MB now actually)...it's hostable.

You can try this: make a 480*480 map, import some mp3`s to make it larger then 4MB (8 if you have 1.24 patch) and see if it works. It should.

No, with WEU, you can only make the map dimetions accumulate to a total of 512 but the dimetions go higher than 256 for a VERY long but thin-ish map to be made. Or that is at least what I gathered when I last used WEU.
