according to the map submiting rules if one was to submit a map and a map is updated that said person would update the map on the origonal map post. now does the same go for a map that was rejected?
If your map was rejected (until updated) you can update your map and set it back to pending that way.
If it was rejected (permanently), you probably want to contact the resource moderator and tell him you have an update.

To respond to the original question:
If your map was rejected permanently, with a message on the map similar to this: The map doesn't stand a chance on approval bla. bla then I suggest you don't upload or update it anymore.
However if your map is rejected and has concrete reasons, such as bad this, bad that and leaks, improve what is needed and update. You can find your maps under the topics you posted, so see the moderator comment there.
where do i see the difference between the 2?
It should say in the PM the moderator sent you when he rejected it.
Otherwise I don't think there's a way to see on the actual resource.
