LegionTD Mega is base on Legion TD War 1.50c (by LISK), he quit Warcraft 3 and left the map for anyone to continue development.

for this version (Mega), it will be X3 mode only, so I can spent more time to balance the map for X3 mode.

Primary Mode:
  • -AP : All Pick - All players can pick any race.
  • -AP : All Random - All players are given a random race.
  • -SD : Single Draft - All players are given 2 random races to choose.
  • -HP : Host Pick - host pick a race, every given same race as host.
Secondary Mode:
  • -mm : Master Mind - Restricted vision on enemy's map and information.
  • -hg : Hour Glass - Receive gold for enemy leaks (that reach the King).
  • -gg : Get Gold - Receive gold from kills at middle (near king).
  • -cb : Change Builder - You can pay to change to a new builder.
  • -li : Limit Incomer - Pure income is disabled untill lvl10+.
  • -X3 : 3 Time - more creeps spawn
Default Mode: if you don't enter mode in 15 seconds after game start, it will use "-aphgggmmcbx3" as defualt mode.

Quick Mode: if mode string is 3 characters long, it will use Quick Mode. eg "-ap"

Game is either too easy or too hard after remove income cap.

Before I removed, player with high income will received 0 bonus gold. now they can can have those bonus gold that worth 2k. (and this is what Pro ask for)


i downloaded the newest version, so beta 2 i think. no message no menu.

Bug: Highborne -> Storm Geyser is partly fail. On some rounds (especially ranged like siren, round 12) the storm geyser is cast right when they first see the enemy units and cast it right where they stand, then run ahead to the enemy units and fight it, but the cloud stays where it is. and the cloud seems to have no good range? just had it again on round 16, even while they faught the enemies they cast the storm cloud, but it would stay where it is, although the highbornes themselves didnt move to continue attacking!

I will check on this one, maybe the range on "Storm Geyser" is too short so it can't see enemy.

also Storm Geyser won't count as "unit" in arena (because I saw a fight that all unit is dead except "Storm Geyser", and the loser team still have unit count say "3" )

i checked again and vk works in beta2, sry.

i have some other questions:
why dont you import some great models from hive for this map? deathwing instead of frostwyrm model deathdragon for example, you could replace almost every model with a new more interesting one.
will pirate race become part of the game or do u play to create another new race?
what about panda then, everyone loves panda :)

hm 7/15 for 4 ppl .. well, didnt happen that often on 3.3, but as some of the later rounds (e.g. 19, 21, 22) seem to be (way) easier in 3.4, it is also easier to still push upgrades in like round 22,23,24... without epic failing here, despite the fact that pushing lumber upgrades its useless at that point ;)

about the 3 column thing for w3mmd data on flags... well, i didnt touch this part of the code (neither took a look at it). just implemented the default sql script to create the database with predefined fields like flag, leaver and praciticing. and as it seems to be a default setup on bot code (ghost++, ghostone, brtghost), you might wanna work around that?! just if this will be a problem at all!

played ~10 games of beta2, not a single desync. all hosted with hostbot, everytime it was hcl = 0, i am using default english wc3 game version.

I don't like import model, each add 50kb-150kb. so one race with 12 unit will add 1Mb to the map.

and I have 15-20 races.

I think 3.4 beta1 was 490kb or 500kb :) now it become 1mb after just loading screen + mini map + king model.

yes, I did lots of levle adjusted for lvl20+, will test them in next few days

lvl19 & 25 is hard to adjust, a small changed can result too hard or too easy.

Hi, was busy these days just tried beta 2.

vk worked fine on the game I played, no dc either.

The highborne bug with the cloud is an old one, and not rly a bug, just too small sight on cloud. I was just building the unit closer to my first lane instead of in the back to prevent it from happenning. Glad if you're fixing it though :).

LVL 28 is not "too hard" just very hard, only leaked it once since it was changed. I usualy play the whole game getting rdy for that lvl, ex with orc I keep tier 6 on warchief, never upgrade them to thrall cause of their armor type. And spend gold on other units on the back instead, this worked great but one game I got rly bad luck with prophet lol. (leaked 28 with like 14-15k value dont remember exactly and yet was the only one killing lvl 29 and very easily, so yeah this is all about att/def type).

From personnal experience the new spawn creeps did redude the lag, and did made the game easier on early lvls (that and the way a few creep types are more spaced). I also agree it make splash less effective, but make some other units much more effective, ex: I dont build dragons with beast, only bears and they are rly strong. I'm actualy not building anymore dragons with splash on this version maybe 1 azure dragon for the frost aura that's all. Everytime I tried it totaly failed compare to my other tactics.

Also I would like to say I find undead a totaly weak race now (as I said splash is less effective, therefor undead is less effective), I dont know why but pudge is not a good tank for the cost in my opinion, always die rly fast and dps too low (so there are no good tanks) also undead dragon without slow breath and with the "new creeps" is rly weak (totaly useless for 28 by example) and... the necro which is supose to be the main dps I believe, with the more "spaced" creeps are way weaker. Since creeps are bigger they go around your defense and kill necros too fast.
Some opinions might differ this is just what I think from the few times I played it. I'm even at the point where I build the skeleton with lifesteal since there's nothing else good there lolll.
In short, I since dragons were useless I tried a defense with necro instead, thinking it was the "new way" but it didnt work at all if you income at the same time.
And I'm sure people who dont know how to income wont agree with me on dragons and on undead... I dont rly care I always play with the lowest value as possible on early game if you cant play that way I dont expect you to understand lol.
I could also talk about many units that have become totaly useless with time ex: violet, but this will just be too long.

I'd just like to say im REALLY happy with both 3.4 and 3.41(beta 2), its gotten so much easier to play for income thanks to the pathing mainly, i could never go back to 3.3.
Only thing i dont like and never use are dragons. As people said above, the splash is almost useless now. Only lvl where it's decent is 13, but let's be serious, how many upgraded dragons can you have at that lvl? I only get stuck with them when i play hybrid, otherwise i avoid any race that has dragons and maximize income with no leaks = happy me.
Lvl 24 is basically the new lvl 19. Throw a demon and a behemoth for each player (unless they have thralls or tanks or massive medium armored units), it's gg.
I don't think 28 is too hard, I had 1k overvalue and just one tank (while playing hybrid) and had no trouble holding it with a kraken. All good.
Looking forward to 3.41 and that pro/master title. Great job!

don't be surprise if you see some of level become harder (for final release):

- lvl17, 23, 26 is hard (as well as 24)
- lvl18/19/21/22/25 semi hard
- lvl27/lvl28/29 seen easy. 27 is easy enough, 28/29 should be easy because people should have higher than recommend value by this time

17 -> seige/forfitied ==> dead level for fortified unit
23 -> Normal/Heavy ==> hard for everyone
24 -> magic/medium ==> another hard level....

I am testing them with difference build. most level can still kill with 500 lower value, but if you have wrong armor then you will leak around 10 creep (with recommend value)

hcl is only used with bots, and bots have a database to store information. guess it's the easiest way.

Thrall used to be one of the few units (along with things like Doomsday, Mutant) that could withstand Juggernauts, but now that attack type is changed from pierce to siege... they're complete jokes lol...

It is good that Mech/Thrall have some hard level (22 & 28).

for undead, I saw some player reach 5/1 at level 4 with undead.

he built 1x Zombie, 3 (or 5) Tier 1 unit at level 4

then add up to 3 zombie plus around 7 tier 1 unit at lvl7/8/9 (can't remember)

his income is pretty high at lvl10. but average after that (because dragon doesn't work well)

i totaly dont agree, undead is very strong if played well.
pudge very good dmg output, necros good for 10 and deathdragon allows to income very hard from 12-19, so one of the best units for midgame, but i agree that without rerolling 28 is pretty hard.

If you build weakers units with undead you can indeed income alot until 10 (best way I found was the tier 2). But those units become a waste of space later, this is the problem about x3, you cant build too many cheap towers or you wont have space later with those huge value.
If undead had 3 upgrades on tier 1 it would make it much more interresting, for now, I never build those cause as I said, waste of space :S

Try out in single player. I think unit have much better assist range since version 3.4. (up to 5-6 row behind ?)

They do have a better assist than before, but on big games with lags, still have some units stuck in corner even 4 row behind sometimes and full lane from 5 row behind. Not always happening ofc and as you said, on single player there's no problem at all.

And yes unit will move after all creeps died. But what I mean is that if you build far from entrance but no quite mid, lets say I'm red and blue leaks while my unit have a few more creeps to kill, then my ranged unit might see blue's leak and attack them. So I'm just saying that if you increase sight a bit more, this particular situation will happen more often, so building back will be risker.

Btw I played more games on beta 2 and I wanted to say thx for puting back the bonus gold lvl even with high income :D.
I often have to handle lvl 28-29 alone on my team, and it was impossible with the previous system now with over 16k value I can most of the time save my team lol. And yes it is possible to kill lvl 28 without tanks there are many other ways to kill this lvl, so stop complaining its too hard ;).
Since 19 is easier lvl 20 finally looks like a real "boss lvl" its pretty nice.
Also 24 is pretty damn good now, people trying to up lumberjack after second arena often fail that lvl. I've had much more games ending at 24 on this version.
One last thing, I think priest is ok now, but I was wondering, you said you put back the cooldown on spells, I noticed with bigfoot + mana reg aura that bigfoot wont stomp even at full mana until cooldown is over. Maybe reduce cooldown on spells then? Or that "key" aura become useless. And does phantoms have that kind of cooldown too or does the aura can increase their attack speed?

They do have a better assist than before, but on big games with lags, still have some units stuck in corner even 4 row behind sometimes and full lane from 5 row behind. Not always happening ofc and as you said, on single player there's no problem at all.

And yes unit will move after all creeps died. But what I mean is that if you build far from entrance but no quite mid, lets say I'm red and blue leaks while my unit have a few more creeps to kill, then my ranged unit might see blue's leak and attack them. So I'm just saying that if you increase sight a bit more, this particular situation will happen more often, so building back will be risker.

Btw I played more games on beta 2 and I wanted to say thx for puting back the bonus gold lvl even with high income :D.
I often have to handle lvl 28-29 alone on my team, and it was impossible with the previous system now with over 16k value I can most of the time save my team lol. And yes it is possible to kill lvl 28 without tanks there are many other ways to kill this lvl, so stop complaining its too hard ;).
Since 19 is easier lvl 20 finally looks like a real "boss lvl" its pretty nice.
Also 24 is pretty damn good now, people trying to up lumberjack after second arena often fail that lvl. I've had much more games ending at 24 on this version.
One last thing, I think priest is ok now, but I was wondering, you said you put back the cooldown on spells, I noticed with bigfoot + mana reg aura that bigfoot wont stomp even at full mana until cooldown is over. i just noticed on beta 2... diabolic's mana does not regen after raising the undead.
i dont remember if i saw it raise the creeps in 3.41 b2 or in another version and if 0 on mana is just a bug, but the spell still works :-?? so check that out please.

Didnt knew the 3% bonus mana reg was "that good", 35-40% faster is huge. Maybe then make hidden cooldown around 75% of normal mana reg.
The thing is, during the game, the only reason I would switch to element would be to get that aura cause I dont like the other units lol.
So if at some point you choose option 1... then element become pretty useless on repick :S.
So for now, what you just said makes element more interresting, I'll try to play it more, if I have time, to see if it makes spell caster too op.
Btw is it me or bigfoot's stomp has slower mana reg than before? And fan of knives is faster or the new 20 mana make it looks like mana go up faster? lol

Will there be any use to the new score system? Because if you want a good score you have to not switch race, so maybe if you have a good score you could get a bonus of some kind. If you get nothing, then not switching will just make you much weaker late game.

Ok so 300+ score is good, I thought score would go higher than that on late game, got 390 at lvl 28 and thought it was bad lol.
Personnaly the race I play the most (90% of the time) is prophet, the problem is that without cb mode, prophet cant re roll and becomes a rly bad race lol. Maybe allow 1-2 repick on prophet even without cb mode cause if you get bad luck at start, ex all ranged light armor units or all melee heavy armor, which did happen to me without cb, you're done...
You'll put title back later? Cause from what I remember, getting 2k value and 50 income at lvl 10 without feed is pretty much impossible unless the game is rly slow, but the 2 other requirements were fine I believe.

one player failed with priest (thought it's 3.4 style). leaked in round 3, 5, 6, 7 and 8 already gave no bounty at all for his leaked units .. he leaked like half of it in round 8. he didnt leak 9. lets say he recovers and no major leaks later. will the new gg mode be kinda reset or upgraded again, so lets say he leaks in 15 again and his units will give bounty again? or is once 0% bounty final?

i think the new costs for frost wolf and ice troll of 240 is inappropriate. 250 was/is ok, as its nice aura and therefore ok to lose a little income. gargolye and ballista for 440/340 is ok though. it always sucked you couldnt do bigger units without losing income/lumber.

ah and i noticed a little error. player spardar99 left in round 20, when he saw everyone on his side was leaking the bosses, but it was already round 20 and the game ended in round 20. w3mmd value "level" says "19" though, everyone else had 20 (which is correct).
also the early leaver in round 12 (just checked the replay) has w3mmd value 11, but in fact left in/during round 12.

edit: ok i just see we also have a "seconds" value, so a "secondsgameover - secondsleaver" could be done. but for the leaver, who left just right before the game ended, i'd say it was max. 1,5 minutes, so 90 seconds, but the values for the other players says "2464" where the leaver goes with "2325" which is 139 less, but i doubt it was 139seconds, whatever :) maybe check the replay with a stopwatch :)

Well then, someone try not to farm anymore/or mass farm and save lumber for round 7 now. Hard to defend, i had some games ended at round 7. Its not good, a suddenly death is a trick right now.
Btw, is there a wrong tooltip or something else? The gravekeeper decrease army's attack down to 10% and STACKABLE. Mean if u have 10 gravekeeper, the creep's attack is down to zero. 10 gravekeepers only cost 4500 gold. I often build a gravekeeper and a lv1 one to have 2 auras.

Apparition aura stack with gravekeeper aura, that's what is writen in game. You need 2 different auras to stack them.

Btw I also had a -3 score on my team once and the guy failed alot too. Maybe he lose more points from leaks than the overall score from value etc. I have no replay though cant give more information.

I may give this a try though, since it’s currently the most downloaded map on the Hive.

I was thinking the same for a while about x3 and all that stuff. But turns out its fun to play :p. If you're like me and play this game pretty much from the creation of Legion TD, then I dont think you'll find new versions too "complicated" the basics were learned so long ago for most of the experiemented players. So its easy to adapt yourself to the new legion TD. Personnally I still believe the game is rly simple, but new players probably wont think that way.

Score:
- score on every level = (value / recommended value ) x (up to 150) + (income / (bonus gold *2)) x 100
- "total score" = sum of score on every level
- "average" score is "total score" / level
- "final score" is adjusted by "average score " -1 per leaked
- "final score" is the one display on screen
- if they leaked that much, their score should be low

I'll try the beta 3 as soon as I have time and see if its harder to get high score. The goal is to make 300 a rly hard score to get? Did you remove the 50% bonus score from not switching race? When I got the 414 score I did switch race does it means I would've get 621 (if I understood the bonus correctly) that score looks way too high.
Also the score you see on board is your total score not counting leaks or counting them? Cause I did get a different score once on the game board and on the display screen at the end. Like around 400 on the board, but 300 on the final display screen.

also had a new bug. i just started a game, mode again hcl = 0 to enable w3mmd, mode -apglcb, then i randomed and got marine. i was red. but it wasnt announced like "Kreutertee randomed Marine" it just said nothing at all. i just got marine, thats it :)

Beta 1 is bug, because lvl31+ count as leaked but it is fixed in Beta 2.

score formula still same.

you can put formula on excel file, enter your value, income to find out your score :)

if you never changed builder, modifier = 150
if you changed one, then modifier = 140
....
changed 5 time, modifier = 100

in Beta 3, lvl17+ is harder so it is harder to get 7/15 hence lower score ?

Oh ok I thought once you changed builder once it was going from 150 to 100.

I can't say its impossible to get 7/15 in beta 3 but much riskier. And early lvl are harder now, first creeps are back to normal size so harder to defend, so less income early, less gold later, then even 7/10 might be hard on that version. I'll play it more tomorrow and see what's the average lumberjack I can get. Probably around 7/8 if I stop lumberjack after lvl 20.

New priest seems fine, I just tried them in single player and noticed they can heal themself, is that a bug or not? Not that it rly matter.

Edit: Oh one more thing: Apparition/Gravekeeper attack range changed (600->500, so aura cover more unit)
Noticed that when 3.4 came out, but had no idea it was a bug until I saw the change log lol.
Apparition and Gravekeeper both have 500 range when you build them, but only Apparition got 500 range in the actual fight, Gravekeeper is still at 600 range.

Exactly, click on random unit (the questionmark :), but no announcement that i randomed and what race i got.

Yep, priest is ok again, like back in 3.3? I think self healing should be ok :)

I am creating unit stat in excel file again(I lost my excel file when my HD die), very boring job. (264 unit)

I think I will changed all unit's description to :
From "DPS : 80"
To "Damage: 101-151"
(everything else still same)

I think new priest is very strange. It should heal every 5 seconds, but I saw it heal every 4th attack. also sometime he can attack & heal at same time.

i got an update on the random unit thing without announcement.

i randomed again (me red), and i got mech. but it was announced that pink player randomed prophet. so you kinda put out the wrong variable here.

as i know for sure, pink randomed before me and it was already announced that pink randomed prophet. and when i randomed mech, it was announced again that pink randomed prophet.

edit: another one, now randomed before pink did. see the attachment :) the announcement you see came for me (red) for picking a random unit.

i got an update on the random unit thing without announcement.

wow i just epic failed with beast. couldnt make up ever since round 1 till game ended in round 17. check the replay.

well, i was kinda unlucky with summons, but also cause harpy/medusa kinda suck now. i had like a gazillion units surviving with 1hp. 1 harpy cant even kill round 1 unit with "1 hit" (meaning 1 hit + poisoning). just check round 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, well.. the game was long gone for me here :D

wasnt harpy able to do so before? or medusa on round 3..? disastrous :D

maybe it's just me, but at least take a look at it :)

Wait... please do not remove the dps data, it's actually a ton more useful than just attack damage. It tells me whether a unit is worth to build or not.

And I also summarized that 0.5 dps per gold is the basic idea: units that have special ability / good armor/atk type / more health will always have a lowered ratio.

A question about excel. Can you just write one formula (like "MaxDamage = BaseDamage + NumberofDice * SideperDie ) and apply it to an entire column? because this will save so much work compared to going through the units one by one.

Poison damage will like this (this is same as what Dota did)

because in my test, they won't give bounty 1-2 kill per wave.

this happen after I lower corpse decay time (eg, if corpse decay before poison finish, then game can't identify who kill it. and "corpse" still count as a unit)

and I will try show you Beast build without leak (with high income)

100% "crit" is better than nothing, and it make warden look like mad fighter too.

Every game I played tonight we're just bad... this version is harder than others, and 95% of the players are noobs. Got once to lvl 24, once to 20 and rest to 17 or lower lol. As I thought its hard to get 7/15 but its possible to get 7/10 before lvl 20 pretty much every game and 7/12 after 20. If you have 7/10 at 20 and rush 7/15 on late lvls, it will probably result in leaking at least lvl 24 and 28, ofc depend on races.

Last game I played I got 301 score at lvl 13 with 7/7, but I got fed little. Then somehow at lvl 20 I ended up with a score of 220 o.0, on final display board cause game ended. Switched race only once and never leaked.

I randomed undead once and tried the new war machine (tier 3) with tanks in front, didnt worked at all, they have too low hp and very small splash. Couldn't kill from lvl 5 with req value. (zombie as tanks, war machine behind and 1 necro behind war machine)

Here's my suggestion: War machine should get 350 - 375 range instead of 500, but higher hp. That way they can tank for necromancers, cause you need a unit of around 250-375 to protect necro (to protect them against big melee like lvl 6). The only units with that kind of range would be death dragon and is kinda expensive to protect necromander in early game or tier 1 which are too weak.

1 - Make dummy and let it channel spell (while fighter is free to attack)

2 - not necessarily, can code it AoE and last short on boss. like ranged version of Bigfoot stomp, but you don't have to use hex anyways, there are a lot more :)

3 - So it's not that many for one race isn't it.

For warden, I wanted a bit more than just eye candy (run to engage enemy, blink to every next target would be epic), but that's just me lol

Since you didn't mention the rest of the spell pool I guess they are all good?

there are lots of big spell on this website, so many of them are good spell with very nice effect (like all Dota's spell).

but... Legion TD will lag like hell if I download those spell.

everyone know my version have lower lag than 2.7.

I deleted most of big spell, and replaced most of "single targeted damage" type spell with "orb".

I will try use simple spell that doesn't require any code to cast, so map won't become more and more lag in future.

this is not Hero fight game, so you can't have big spell like Dota.

how score relate to title:

Pro :
250 score at level 10
300 score at lvl20
350 score at level 30 ?? (need more data)

I like undead because it is hard to play(and it work), other races are boring because I know how to build them (just build 1 or 2 unit for whole game and check value for hard level)
