i was wondering if anyone could help me with this.

my heros have a base attack speed of 2

if an item allows an attack speed of 2.00 which is the same as the hero's, then there would be no attack speed increase/decrease. so it would be 0.00

what i want to know is if i wanted the item to set the attack speed to 1.85 what would i do? -0.15? or is it percentage? like if i wanted 1.00, would i do 0.50 or -0.50?

note: i'm basing the item's attack speed from the item ability for gloves of haste.

I believe that attack speed works by dividing the base attack speed by 1 + AS%.

So if you gave the unit 8.1% increased attack speed (2 / 1.081) then that would give you the correct attack speed. You can always just go, 2 / 1.85 to find the answer as well (subtract one from the answer)

I'm not 100% positive, but my logic is good.
