That being said, I would love to get King_Leopold's blessing on this -but that's near impossible since he's not active on WC3 anymore. Does that mean no one can make a similar style of map until he comes back to your platform? What is your solution to this?
I promise I'm not trying to be dense here or rock the boat -I just want to be able to share the map that I spent over 3 years working on with the wc3 community. Surely this is possible without having me hunt down a man who's got more important things to deal with in his life right now.

As for permission, which permission are you referring to? I've given credit to authors of all assets I've used in the map.
As for King_Leopold's permission, I don't see why I would need it in this circumstance. I clearly explain in my map description that his original map serves as an "inspiration" for this map, and that I haven't used any of his original code or assets. I'm only iterating on a style that somebody else did. The 1000+ hour's I've spent designing triggers, the map layout, balancing the units, and coming up with fun ideas on how to make a map of this size work with 23 players -that's all my original work.
If you believe that explicit permission is required before someone can make a similar style of map, then I would ask if you treat anyone who makes an ARAM-type of game mode the same. Does anyone who makes a 3-lane hero arena require permission from IceFrog before they can upload thier map? I would hope not.
