I took that one down last year because I didn't want a half baked version of the map of left up while it wasn't being worked on. I couldn't figure out how to hide it, so I just deleted it -so I apologize for my incompetence!

As for permission, which permission are you referring to? I've given credit to authors of all assets I've used in the map.

As for King_Leopold's permission, I don't see why I would need it in this circumstance. I clearly explain in my map description that his original map serves as an "inspiration" for this map, and that I haven't used any of his original code or assets. I'm only iterating on a style that somebody else did. The 1000+ hour's I've spent designing triggers, the map layout, balancing the units, and coming up with fun ideas on how to make a map of this size work with 23 players -that's all my original work.

If you believe that explicit permission is required before someone can make a similar style of map, then I would ask if you treat anyone who makes an ARAM-type of game mode the same. Does anyone who makes a 3-lane hero arena require permission from IceFrog before they can upload thier map? I would hope not.

That being said, I would love to get King_Leopold's blessing on this -but that's near impossible since he's not active on WC3 anymore. Does that mean no one can make a similar style of map until he comes back to your platform? What is your solution to this?

I promise I'm not trying to be dense here or rock the boat -I just want to be able to share the map that I spent over 3 years working on with the wc3 community. Surely this is possible without having me hunt down a man who's got more important things to deal with in his life right now.

I've read the Map Submission Rules again, and aside from the re-submission (which I've admitted, was an honest mistake on my part), I don't see where I'm violating any type of rule regarding permissions. King_Leopold is not the original author of this map. Not a single asset, line of code, map layout or design, unit spawn, base concept, or spell or ability was borrowed from King_Leopold's War of the Lost Kingdoms map. The only thing resembling his map is a subjectively similar name "Lost Kingdoms - Reforged" and a combination of ideas that can easily be found elsewhere on the hive (automatic unit spawns, last survivor-standing, mass-unit warfare, etc).

And even IF King_Leopold was the original author of my map (which I can't stress enough, he is NOT), it would be his responsibility to proactively grant or deny permission to upload my map. In which case, I would be as cooperative as possible and find a suitable compromise that we would both be happy with. But even in that case, it would be discussion between me and King_Leopold -not me and Hive Moderator.

If I've misunderstood these rules, please elaborate on which rule you believe I've broken (aside from the re-upload, again, I'm sorry!).

Updating the thread/map would have been the way to go. Like so: Updating resources Deleting essentially hides any comments or previous moderation.
Alrighty then. If the map is not simply a remake of another's work, like a literal ripoff, you don't need express permission.

I'm having trouble finding my map upload now... It looks like it was taken down. Is there any chance at me getting it back? Or do I need to re-upload?
